Naruto Chapter 545 – Just as Planned!

Chapter 545 is here and it’s one sweet read. It’s been a long wait, but we’re getting the first taste of the new Naruto showing off what he can do and pwning ass while doing it. On top of that, he’s showing off powers we’ve never seen before from out of nowhere. Is Kishi giving Naruto the “Sasuke” treatment we’ve been complaining about for so long?
– Naruto’s heading to the front to help out with the Zetsu clone problem, but too bad Madara has to pull his “just as planned” card here – essentially declaring any progress our hero will make from the alliance side in the next few chapters is futile and playing right into his hand.
– The odd thing is, Shikaku and the Raikage’s assistant both clearly know very well this could be a trap, yet they’re willing to throw caution to the wind because it just so happens Naruto’s new powers are perfect for solving the Zetsu infiltration problem.
– Then again, I didn’t realize just how devastating the clones have been on the alliance army. Even the tent where Shizune is researching Zetsu is strewn with dead shinobis – notice they’re not Zetsu clones since they haven’t reverted to his form after death so the clones must have made many attempts at breaking in to the encampment.
– Wow, I didn’t realize the ninja world has the technology to do DNA sequencing; it’s just a pretty odd juxtaposition because they’re still fighting with daggers and swords, yet have such advanced medical technology.
– And by what Tsunade said, it seems Madara has a good understanding of secret of genes as wells since he has made himself as immortal as the rest of his army. If Orochimaru was still around, he’d be begging Madara to share with him his secrets.
– The good news is, since his opponents are technically dead anyways, Naruto has no need to hold back in killing them off and we get to see the extent of his new powers.
– Naruto is really getting good at using those chakra arms of his, even allowing him to form Rasengans with them. The Rasengan Riot was a sweet move and is a pretty good demonstration of how articulate Naruto has become in controlling his new powers.
– The giant frog summon was pretty neat too, especially after Naruto did a little misdirection by using the mini-rasengan first. Naruto has used giant toads before in battle like his famous fight versus Pain, but I had always thought the toads were recruited by Ma and Pa toad. Here, Naruto clearly proves he’s the one doing the summoning. Does this mean Naruto is becoming more familiar with seals? I would hope so because after gaining the yellow flash from his dad, it would be nice if some of Kushina’s sealing abilities would rub off on Naruto as well.
– I’m not sure about this mass shadow clone move Naruto does at the end. Yes, it will allow him to help out on all battlefields at once, but it’s a tremendous chakra drain to maintain. And despite how dangerous the Zetsu clones are, Naruto should be more focused on Madara who’s coming to town with possibly six of the world’s strongest shinobi at his command – not to mention he still has Sasuke as his trump card. Also, we haven’t really established just how much time Naruto has in his new form, so far he’s been recklessly using it on flashy moves, I just hope he doesn’t sputter out before the main event.

    Do you see a betrayel by kabuto commi.g up. Lets say madara goes for naruto and then kabuto unsummons his 6 paths leaving madara open. On top of that have we seen madara use the transportation technique since he flopped eyes? Maybe he needs both to make it work. Otherwise why wouldnt he use it to move his whole army straight to the front lines as opposed to running.

    I can see Naruto either speaking Kyubi at some point, i think Kyubi needs to impressed massively to convince him to tag team up with naruto! Or supplement his chakra with Sage Mode! now i dont really have a blue how that will balance out bit it seemed to of worked for a small amount of time when he was in the presence of Nagato! he or a clone would have to sit off on the by line and generate some! maybe two for good measure!

    All these Fancy moves look well cool especially the mini Rasenshuriken! but i dont see these as uber impressive moves just yet! i think he has got allot of bigger moves in his locker!

    I would Really like to see Naruto combine some nature elemental jutsu’s together preferably Water and wind that would be well cool but its just not likely as he would have to train hes in the middle of a battle lol!

    Seems like hes gonna save his big move the tailed beast bomb for Madara! dont know how he is gonna get a clear shot though if Madara can just phase through it! might have to be allot of Decoy tactics till he gets a good chance.

    I think it’s pretty obvious that Naruto and the fox will team up when fighting Madara, the fox made it pretty clear that the only person to ever somewhat even slightly intimidate him was Madara when he was talking to Sasuke inside of Naruto. This mutual dislike from both Naruto and fox of Madara will be enough to make them team up. Also I would like to point out a big plot hole that I just thought of on the spot. If all that had to happen was for Naruto to be killed for the fox to escape why didn’t he let Sasuke kill him in the Valley of the end. That would have been the easiest way for him to be released from his confinement and then proceed to wreaking havoc again. I can only think of 3 logical things:

    1. Big plot hole as usual which is the most likely theory.
    2. The seal on the doors of the gate inside Naruto would have kept him confined even if Naruto died, and he would have disappeared along with Naruto’s inner self when Naruto died.
    3. He has secretly been testing Naruto in his own way all this time to make him stronger because he knew Naruto needed to get strong, and he knew that Madara and Sasuke would be really big problems in the future. Which means he has been respecting Naruto for a long time now and had joined the Naruto “talk no jutsu” bandwagon long before all the other victims of this jutsu did, lol.

    I could’ve sworn that it was established way early in the naruto series the only ways for the kyuubi to come out is to have the seal between him and naruto destroyed, and (like the akatsuki, as well as the villages did it in the past) to forcibly seperate them somehow, while naruto is alive. If naruto dies before any of that happens, the kyuubi dies as well. But I could be wrong.

    Well then that leads me to my next question, the seal was broken when Naruto entered into the battle with him to take his chakra, why didn’t he just book it for the first exit hole instead of putting up a fight?
    Because Kushina did not appear as soon as the seal was broken. So nothing was physically holding him back from leaving.

    Also I tend to think what Tobi has been saying has been true about the juubi and just everything that has happened in the past. Because the fox has made references to a lot of similar things. Now do I believe EVERYTHING is true, I’m still kinda on the fence about that one.

    Of course, the Kyuubi keeping Naruto alive, that could just be due to the Kyuubi hedging his bets. If the Kyuubi lets Naruto live, the 9-tails probably figures Naruto will try and obtain his power in a few years and blamo the Kyuubi will take over and be reborn.

    But if Naruto were to be killed, it is purely speculation but I would say the revival time for the Kyuubi would be a lot longer and maybe even unpredictable. Perhaps the Kyuubi does not want to be “in limbo” or wherever he would be in the meantime, or maybe he doesn’t want to wait that long. If you knew (which the Kyuubi might) that revival could take 1000 years, or even as little as 100 years, would you be willing to do that? Which choice would you make?

    and on narutos new abilities, i think that they are sweet. overdone but sweet. i don’t think that chakra will be a problem because i think that naruto is smart enough now to get over that sideeffect. kyuubi is limitless chakra, and if by some reason he runs out. he will leave a clone to gather sage chakra. i wouldn’t have thought like this until i saw that naruto still uses his summonings. so i believe that he now knows to plan ahead.
    but the manga as a whole is getting more like dbz. i say this because, the the 3rd hokage fought oroo and the 2 past hokage, the anbu were stating that the battle was on a whole different level, the highest ever. and now the battles are getting more intense and with more chakra, and visible chakra. the battles now make the 3rd hokages battle look like konohamaru could have beaten them. i loved this manga for the lack of super super city destroying moves. now, thats all they do, and now ninjas can fly with dust. still love the manga though.

    I find that the simple fact that madara says everything is going according to plan, as a setup for things to go awry. Since kabuto has control over the summons i see him usurping madaras control over them. Unless of course the sharingan rinnegan combo has the ability to take control of those 6 edos away from kabuto.

    Now if thats the case kishi is setting up something special for itachi and pein.

    With all the main pieces on the board this war will quickly advance forgetting some of the minor characters; However, I dont believe Madara has put too much faith into his 6 paths he is more of a, have a back up for your back up, and never expect things to go according to plan type.
    Infact Madara, from what we have seen, is more the manipulator rather than the warrior. So i dont know what that will mean for the battle. His main goal is to capture Naruto and Bee, thats all he needs, he can as much as loose the war, he just needs Naruto and Bee.
    The bigger picture is what we need to view here, Now that naruto and Bee are loose on the field, all madara has to do is capture them. Bee will come easy, i believe madara can out-wit and out power him, naruto will be the struggle, now in multiple forms its going to be a challenge for madara to capture the real one.

    Now Kabuto, i predict is going to be the sneeky behind the scenes guy, much like Madara was with the Akatsuki organization. He won’t interviene much, turning on madara is probable, or he could simply wait out the war, and take over the reins as soon as madara is gone. Kabutos 6th coffin that is still unrevealed should be considered a massive threat more so now than ever. If Madara is afraid of it than clearly its not because he is afraid of being revealed as a fake. Madara is amazingly powerful in comparison to all other villans seen thus far in the series. So what ever is in that coffin, is powerful enough to end madara.

    Naruto’s new jutsu, at first annoyed me greatly, i was infuriated by the mini-rasenshuriken, its just as it has always been, the same jutsu just mixed up a little. But then i remembered thats not what the manga is about, its more about naruto using the abilities avalible to him to achieve otherwise impossible tasks. For instance, rasengan, impossible if you cant concertrate chakra and rotate it at once, naruto over comes this by having one clone do one part whilst he does the other. So what has naruto achieved?
    Multiple enemys always posed a threat to naruto, shadow clones were his answer, but at this level they couldnt make the cut, so rasengan riot was designed to cover this flaw.
    Vaccum rasengan is interesting, it has similar characteristics to Peins Heavenly pull, i dont see it being a terribly useful jutsu well not yet anyway.
    Minirasenshuriken, despite my first thoughts is actually a little ingenious, less chakra is put into it, or perhaps its just massivly compressed, but either way, its small quick controlable and massively effective, better yet ONE HANDED!

    Anyone else notice that the swirl on Madara’s new mask, is consistent with the pattern evident behind the Firsts wife. Its in the first panel, unfortunatly her head is blocking the middle pattern, may be nothing but then again, Everything is thought out and very particular with this Manga.

    Naruto has nine tails inside him with ridiculous amount of chakra. it is obvious naruto will over power them but i do think side characters can put a pretty good fight against naruto. third hokage was old and but he showed a high level battle. the tschikage can fly due to a kekkai genkai which the third doesn’t have.the power level is plausible and everyone is unique in their own way.

    I think Tobi’s swirl pattern was a hint that he had Senju/ Uzumaki power. The rin’negan pattern now displays the power or the Rin’negan that he now has.

    As to the Byakugan, that was something Kakashi said once and it has never been expanded on. Who knows, it seems likely that Kishimoto had an idea and then scrapped it for simiplicity.

    Madara is immortal because he unlocked the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan. The First’s cells allowed him to use Izanagi, not be immortal.

    As to how the cells could give immortality, I think they supply so much physical energy to extend life to beings that don’t typically have access to that much physical energy. As to how Hashirama died, it had to have been in battle as the 2nd Hokage took over when he himself was still young.

    As for EMS, it doesn’t grant immortality. It grants a permanent “light” to one’s eyes.

But even regeneration has its limits, and even though Madara has extended his life it doesn’t completely stop the process of aging – remember the deep wrinkles on his face when he partially revealed his face to Sasuke? So it is kind of immortality, but it just means he can live longer, not that he can’t be killed.

    On a related thought, if the First’s cells can grant immortality, why didn’t the First live to a ripe old age? Was he assassinated or killed in battle?

    Madara probably killed him with his own wood style tho after taking his cells after there first battle

    nagato had to use chakra receivers because he had to station himself at a far distance(far enough that sensory shinobi were unable to detect him) from his paths and the battlefield because of his inability to use his legs. if he himself was on the battlefield with his paths he’d be somewhat of an easy target especially for jinchuuriki and shinobi who know of him and his power and willingly go after him.(kakashi, naruto, jiraiya) tobi on the other hand can actually fight alongside his paths or stay keep himself at a close distance to them and maybe use hashiramas cells to emit chakra to his paths.

    theory 2:
    tobi found some way to take control of the jinchuuriki from kabuto through a flaw in edo tensei or he and kabuto could have just planned this together.

    those are my theories. anyone else?

    Madara is controlling them via genjutsu? If he ever hopes to actually carry out his moons eye plan, then he would have to be particularly good at genjutsu.

    I suppose if Sasuke could control Manda (Oro’s biggest an baddest snake) and Madara could control the Kyuubi through Genjutsu then i dont see why Madara couldnt control 6 paths aswell. I think Madara found a way to over throw Kabuto’s edo technique – I doubt snake boy junior would allow him to take those fighters in particular. Suppose we’ll find out this week tho

    And to be honest all the chakra Rods did for the story, was give a way for Naruto to Find Nagato, then have a deep and meaningful with him.

    In the end its kind of (Kind of, not exactly) like questioning how Narutos Shadow clones do exactly as he wants them too.

    Anyhoo .. Fastninja’s first theory sounds better, Madara just wouldn’t trust Snakeboy Jr. enough to use Edo Tensei bodies … By the looks of it Snakeboy already has a trump card in the sixth coffin, i don’t think Madara will hand over his cards to Kabuto by using his edo tensei’s bodies

    @dry the reason why i asked how MAdara is controlling the Six paths is because tobi could be one of the paths .. think about it .. he rips off body parts, and they grow out in his next apperance, he claims he cannot be hurt or killed, so on and so forth ..

    The Sixth paths can have genjutsu used against them DERP! Look back at Jyiara-boys fight against Pein with Ma and Pa, they used genjutsu against a dead body. All of Peins Paths where dead, how does that change if their bodies where re-inhabited by there soul, which is exactly what the Edo summon is.

    So Genjutsu, Plausible…

    i can’t help but notice though, that kishi seems to be rushing the war a bit and some of the battles that we wanted didn;t happen, like neji vs his dad.
    i’m interested to see the former jinchiriki fight. i know its gonna be awesome. well we’ll see in the future.
