Ch.6 A Genkages Revenge Pt.3! Sinclaires Secrets Revealed!

Sinclaire was worried. As he and his team raced through the forest towards Shannaro, he couldnt help but feel a bit fearful. True, he may be strong, especially with the extra power that Tenkage had given him for releasing him from his prison, but he was still merely a shadow of his former self, his former strength. He knew he could take on a great number of the young ninja that made up the majority of Shannaro’s ranks right now, but there were still a few wild cards to consider. NTG for one. He still didnt know if he could bring himself to kill her. Maybe…maybe he-

“Halt!” Suna suddenly commanded to the rest of the team, breaking Sinclaire from his thoughts and alerting the whole team to something above them. Sinclaire focused on the five moving figures in the sky and almost growled as he recognized them. It was Ikamazu and NTG along with the rest of the early Shannaro Defenders. They were at least a hundred yards above the tree tops, riding on some of White Shinobi’s Draphens.

“Ignore them, they are no threat. They are obviously going towards Tenkage so that they can try to stop him, they are already dead.” Sinclaire said, moving towards the front so that he could start to lead the team again. However, Suna stepped in front of him as he tried to pass, an annoyed expression on his face, the first sign of emotion Sinclaire had seen from him since Tenkage had basically brainwashed him. Sinclaire met the boys annoyed glare with his own before speaking. “Move.”

“No” Suna said back. Turning to look up again, Suna explained himself. “Those were my friends. It seems that Zep called for back up since White Shinobi and Sothe are with them. If it was only Zep and my teammates, it would be a different story, but with Sothe and Shiro there they are a major threat and cannot be allowed to reach Tenkage-sama.”

“Alright, what do you propose we do then? We do still have our own mission to accomplish you know, and fighting the lot of them would take much too long.” Sinclaire asked Suna, barely hidden rage lacing his voice. It was just like Suna to argue with everything he did.

“We fight them one on one, leaving only one person left to go and try to fight the master. We would have to make sure to seperate them by a large margin of course to eliminate any chance of them finding any strength in numbers.” Suna suggested. Hidan and Ripcord grunted in approval of the plan much to Sinclaires annoyance. Still he wouldnt back down so easily.

“Then who do we leave out? And whats to stop them from trying to help their friends fight us?” Sinclaire said haughtily trying to find some hole in the plan.

“Easy, we leave out Ikamazu. He’s the one in the front, and he’s the most likely to continue on so that he could try and take out Tenkage himself.”

Sinclaire scowled, before looking back up towards the sky. The five teens were almost out of sight, and he knew Suna was right about the teams threat level towards Tenkage. “Fine.” He finally said before shifting his body forward. “I call the girl.”

__________

“Ikamazu! Check your goggles again to make sure we’re going in the right direction!” Zep called out from directly behind him. Nodding, Ikamazu put his goggles back on focused the tiniest bit of chakra into them, allowing the world to shift colors and chakra to become visible to him.

“We’re still on course, Tenkage’s chakra is still dead ahead.” Ikamazu called before noticing something strange near the bottom of his goggles. turning to look below him he noticed four chakra signatures heading straight for them. “Look out!” He shouted behind him in warning.

Before any of the others could react though, there was a person on each of their draphens along with them. In a startled panic none of them even made a move as the four figures quickly latched onto them and leaped far off in different directions, leaving Ikamazu as the only thing left in the sky apart from the remaining Draphens. Cursing, Ikamazu saw as the four pairs of chakra signatures landed at the forest floor, all of them too far away from each other for him to give proper support to. Yelling in frustration, Ikamazu could only wish his friends good luck in whatever was happening as he continued forward towards Tenkages lair, intent on trying to finish this. After all, if he couldnt use Zep to seal off Tenkages chakra then he would just have to steal it all away.

__________

Natsumi was shocked for just a moment as someone grabbed onto her and dragged her off her Draphen, seperating her from the rest of the group. It was shameful for a kunoichi to freeze up like that as it could get her killed in the field, but she had only ever run drills so it wasnt unexpected of her to not have the best of ninja instincts. Still as soon as the moment was over she came back to her senses and immediately went into action, activating her fox cloak and lashing her tail out behind her to push away whoever it was that had grabbed her and sending her into a free fall. With out sparing a moment she created two more tails of chakra as she hit the tree line and extended them outward, stabbing into the thick trees and slowing her down. In just a few seconds her descent had completely stopped and she was in mid air being supported only by her tails.

Looking around her, she noticed a figure drop down into the trees by one of her tails. He was a little taller than her, with a cloak surrounding his whole upper body from the middle of his nose down to his waist. She watched him as he stared at her for a moment before she felt a shiver run up her spine. “What the hell are you looking at!” She shouted at the man. The man only looked at her for a second more before he closed his eyes and lifted his hand.

“Get over here!” The man snarled and immediately a glowing blue chakra string shot forth from his hand and latched onto Natsumi pulling her towards him. Natsumi struggled against his pull, using her three tails as leverage against the intense strength that the man seemed to possess. Eventually she prevailed and instead of the man pulling her towards him he was lifted off his feet and sent flying straight at her. Natsumi then created a fourth tail and lashed out at the man, intent on stabbing right through him. Unfortunately the man sent out another chakra string, this time towards a tree, and hastily pulled himself away from the attack, Natsumi’s tail barely grazing the outside of his leg.

Natsumi huffed and got rid of two tails so she could pull herself to one of the branches. Once she was back on her feet she turned towards the direction of the man and glared as she realized he had been staring at her again. “Hey you creep! Just what do you think you’re doing? Who are you?” She shouted.

The man let a small ‘tch’ sound escape his lips before he moved closer to Natsumi, staying only one branch above her. “I think that I’m looking at some one I havent seen in a very long time, Natsumi. Oh yes, I know your name.” The man said, a bit of amusement in his voice as he looked at Natsumi’s shocked expression. “I know you very well after all. Allow me to…reintroduce myself. My name is Sinclaire.” Sinclaire then mockingly bowed a bit, confusing Natsumi even more before a few things began to click in her head.

“What…what are you saying? You mean you know me.” Natsumi asked hesitantly. Because if he knew her, but she didnt know him then…

“What? Oh, yes I know you, didn’t I just say that? That’s the problem of when you’re young, you never listen.” Sinclaire said, all the while moving just a bit closer to Natsumi. He sighed deeply for a moment, as he thought of his plan again. He needed to have that power again, needed it with such an intense yearning that it ate away at him. But at the same time…he didnt want to hurt her. Anyone else but her. Closing his eyes to refocus his priorities, he tried to push aside his emotions. He was not who he used to be. He would not be weighed down by things like her again. He was supposed to be a GOD! And she…she stood in the way of that. Opening his eyes however he suddenly saw a look of such hope in her eyes that his resolve nearly buckled.

“If you know me…then do you know about what happened to me? No, ofcourse you do or else you would be shocked speechless. But then, if you still know me, then does that mean you knew me from before? Were you apart of my old selfs life?” Natsumi pleaded to Sinclaire, trying to find something out about who she used to be.

Sinclaire almost said yes. He wanted so badly to say yes, but in all honesty, he knew that even if he convinced her that he was apart of her old life, and somehow managed to get her to follow him, he would never truly have Natsumi. Not ever. With that anger in mind, he fueled his resolve and made the final desicion. For him to become what he wanted to be again, NTG had to die.

“No, you pathetic girl.” Sinclaire spat out startling Natsumi slightly at the now harsh tone he was using. “I was not apart of your old life. Rather you were once apart of my old life. Back from before I was a god. Back when I used to care about that pathetic village of Shannaro I called home. No Natsumi, I dont know you from before, the only reason I know you is because I’ve lived through this time line before. I am from the future.”

Natsumi blinked in surprise before Sinclaire raised his hand again. It was then that Natsumi saw that Sinclaire had only been using one hand as his other one was shriveled up and close to his body. Without another word Sinclaire sent out a chakra string towards Natsumi and wrapped it around the girls neck to strangle her. Natsumi quickly got back into her battle mode and her fox cloak went haywire, her claws slicing the chakra string and her tails moving to spear through Sinclaire again. Sinclaire deftly moved aside and attempted to close the distance, but Natsumi drew in a large breath before screeching out at the top of her lungs.

A concussion wave blasted into Sinclaire, as high pitched vibrations caused an unspeakable amount of damage to his ears, bringing him down to one knee. Keeping up with her attack, Natsumi ran at full speed towards Sinclaire and rammed her foot into his head with a roundhouse kick. She expected him to go flying through the forest and smash into trees, but as soon as her kick connected, nothing happened. Mildly surprised, she tried again and again, putting in more and more strength only for the same results to keep happening. Nothing.

Sinclaire then chuckled before he dissapeared in a blur, reappearing behind Natsumi and safe from her Fox Shriek. “I always hated that move.” Sinclaire said before delivering a spine crushing blow to Natsumis back. Natsumi flew forward and hit a tree trunk face first, crying out in the pain. Slowly she pushed herslef out of it and rounded on Sinclaire, drawing a deep breath, only for him to blur infront of her again. “Uh uh uh, none of that now.” He said before he back handed her away with the force of a locomotive. Once again she felt as if she was flying until she hit the underside of a rather large tree branch.

Natsumi moved on instinct, pushing past the pain so that she could roll onto the other side of the branch, putting it between her and Sinclaire. It didnt do anything though because Sinclaire appeared on the tree branch directly in front of her, a cold stare in his eyes. “How?” She asked Sinclaire, desperately trying to stall for time. Sinclaire paused for a moment, wondering if he should humor her or not before deciding there was no harm in theatrics.

“How what? How do none of you’re attacks hurt me? How did I move so fast and hit so strong? How did I come back in time? You need to be a bit more specific.” Sinclaire said, a maliscious grin plastered on his face. Panting, Natsumi simply stated “Everything” making Sinclaire frown a bit. “Well, so be it. There is, after all, nothing you can do to beat me, so stalling for time will do you no good, and evil villain monolouges are just too much fun.” Clearing his throat, Sincalire began his tale.

“In my origianl time line, I was one of Shannaro’s reborn ninja. I was one of the best too, my powers giving me a rather large edge on the other ninja. Infact, I was so good that I even caught the attention of Bob, and was put on a special squad led by him with my two teammates, Natsumi Kitsuya and Suna No Ken.” Natsumi’s heart nearly stopped when Sinclaire finished that last sentence. It just couldnt be. It wasnt right. There was just no way possible. “My name is Sinclaire, but I used to be known as Ikamazu Oturan.”

This time her heart did stop. Natumi stared at the man infront of her with such denail at the claim, and yet, now that he said it, she could see the bits of Ikamazu that were still there in the mans eyes. He was telling the truth. “I-Ikamazu…” Natsumi breathed out. “What, happened?”

“A lot of horrible things happened. I lived through them. Others didnt. Including you.” Sinclaire said, his eyes darkening. “But those things didnt happen for a while. Still, to answer your question I started to become this way because of one of the Artifacts, to be more specific, the Helmet of Satan. It tempted me when I was younger, but I pushed it away. Later on though I needed the power to stop something, something that wont even exist so long as I act once the moment is right. So I donned the helmet, and gained ultimate power. I was a GOD!” Sinclaire shouted out to the heavens. Natsumi stared at what her friend would grow into in fear. He was speaking insanely.

“Using the helmet, I easily defeated the threat, but then I realized something. I had all this power, but nothing to use it for. Nearly everyone was dead, there was nothing left. So I left. I was alone for I’m not sure how long, the evil taint in the helmet my only company. Eventually, I was so downtrodden that I let the evil in, I welcomed the evil. And thats when I changed. It wasnt until three years ago that I had the idea that changed everything.”

“My old life was over. I had nothing left to live for in that world. But I needed something to use all that power for. So why not use it to rule. But with no one to rule what could I do? Nothing. Except use the power of a god to go back in time and rule over the past! So I did as the helmet suggested, but once I came back, the power I had was almost physically ripped out of me, leaving me aa you see me now, a shell of my former self.”

Sinclaire eyed his left hand for a moment before continuing. “You see, at this moment in time, my power wasnt in the helmet, it was somewhere else, in someone else. My power couldnt be in two places at once, so it disappeared out of my body, taking with it my chakra absorbing powers. Now I can barely make a chakra string. And that leads me to your second question of how none of your attacks can hurt me. I can absorb Kinetic Energy, making all physical attacks useless. Ofcourse, like my other power, I can use the Kinetic energy I absorb at my will, enhancing my speed and strength.”

Natsumi at this time was nearly ready to strike back. Despite the shock of discovering that this man was Ikamazu, she forced herself to remember that this wasnt the Ikamazu she knew, that this was an enemy who wanted to kill her, had free’d Tenkage, allowed him to kill Suna, and wanted to destroy the village. She couldnt let him get away with that. So as she sensed the ending of his story, she slowly began to change her chakra cloak.

“At that point I had two choices.” Sinclaire continued. “I could either try to live out the rest of my days here in this time line, not quite of it since I now exist outside of the conventional time stream, waiting for when the time was right for me to destroy what I had back in the past while it was still weak, or I could search for a way to gain ultimate power again and use it to crush everything in my way to becoming ruler of this world. I chose the latter and set in motion several events in this timeline that would be of great use to me, such as me freeing Tenkage rather than Sasuke. Soon, I’ll be able to steal Tenkages power for my self an be one step closer to my goal. It’s too bad really, that you’re-” Sinclaire was suddenly cut off as Natsumi sent a chakra tail straight at Sinclaire, Sinclaire dodging it by mere inches.

Sinclaire turned back to Natsumi, cold fury in hs eyes, only to be met with a ferocious slash from claws that felt as if they were made of steel. sincalire cried out in agony, clutching his face in rage and spitting out curses. Natsumi didnt wait for him though. Wrapping her tail around him, she lifted Sincalire up and slammed him into the tree trunk, only for there to be no damage. Sinclaire used the moment to enhance his muscles and break out of the grip, landing softly infront of Natsumi, four claw marks bleeding on his face.

“Very clever Natsumi, I didnt take into account this form. To be honest I forgot all about your fox armor. I guess I shouldnt have explained the part about where I cant absorb chakra anymore.” Sinclaire commented, buying some time to think. Natsumi shook her head, and looked back down at herself.

Her fox cloak didnt cover her whole body anymore, instead she had upgraded it. Using nearly double the chakra it took to make the fox cloak, Natsumi was able to soldify her chakra into segmented armor that was stronger than steel. Pure chakra armor. It left a few areas open for attack, but with this armor on, she could deal a lot more damage to opponents with her fighting style, as well as have the added benefit of the armor’s natural healing aura, making her feel fresh and ready to fight, if not directly healing her. The fact that since it was pure chaka and thus could do things such as cut and stab through Sinclaire was not lost on her either.

“You know, growing up and reading stories, I always wondered, why the bad guy took the time to lay out his evil plan in front of his opponent instead of just finishing them off. Really, it’s pretty stupid. I dont care if you were once Ikamazu, I dont care about what’s going to happen in a few years, or even tomorrow. I care about today, and I will do my damn best to make sure that Ikamazu never grows into you” Natsumi then charged at Sinclaire again, forcing her chakra to create eight other tails of pure chakra to go along with her chakra armor one. “Take this! Nine Tails Rush!”

Sinclaire grit his teeth in anger before stepping back and preparing to dodge. He knew this move. He knew it. If he jumped he was dead, if he charged her he was dead, but if he dodged each strike…”Ichi!” Natsumi began, stabbing forward with her metal tail, Sinclaire sidestepping it to the right. “Ni!” This time two tails shot forward, slicing in a diagonal direction. He was supposed to try and go through the tails to dodge so she could crush him, so instead he backpedaled just out of their range, but straight into the third attack. “San!” Three tails came forward one stabbing at him that he dodged, one trying to sweep his legs that he easily stepped over, but the third tail struck true, slicing a deep gash behind his back. Sinclaire jerked in pain and didnt have enough time to dodge as Natsumi took advantage of the situation to skip right to the finale. “Kyu!”

Natsumi had four tails pierce right through Sinclaires limbs, lifting him up a bit and keeping him locked in position. Then she had two tails slash downwards across his body making two parrellel gashes spurt blood along his body. Finally, the last three tails spun rapidly and attempted to cut through his whole body. But Sinclaire knew thats how Natsumis attack ended. So, using the last of the strength he stole, he overpowered the grip two of the tails had on his arms and lurched forward, grabbing Natsumi by the front of her shirt before plunging his left hand into her chest. Natsumi gasped in surprise, not at the pain, but rather at the lack of pain. She looked down and saw that even though Sinclaires hand was in her chest, he hadnt damaged her body at all.

“This, is a technique that I perfected long ago.” Sinclaire said, his eyes blurred in a strange madness. “I call it the Chakra Spike. I can force a person to open their eight inner gates until they either collapse from the strain or die. And with how much chakra you normally have, I doubt you’ll just collapse! Now die!” Sinclaire then opened Natsumi’s first gate, giving all the other gates a small push so they in turn would open once it was their turn.

Natsumi felt her body give an involuntary shudder before she felt the unmistakable sense of her chakra rising well past her reserves. She nearly choked for air as the chakra started to overwhelm her at the third gate, causing Sinclaire to grin and cakkle in glee. However, as Sinclaire laughed, the presence around Natsumi shifted. Slowly, the intense pressure dropped and Sinclaire stared in shock as Natsumi pushed Sincalire off of her and suspended him high in the air by her two tails. Slowly, the chakra that was released began to coalesce around her head as she turned to face Sinclaire.

“I’m very sorry, that my first kill will be you…Ikamazu. At the same time though I know in my hear that I’m not killing my friend. So, Sinclaire, this is goodbye. You’re goals and evil stops here, with me! And thank you for unlocking the eight gates for me, I didnt think I could do it with how weak I was at the moment. Thats right I can control the gates, Arashi Uzumaki taught me how. He also taught me one incredibly devastating technique I can only use with the gates.”

Sinclaires eyes suddenly widened. He had no idea that Natsumi could use the gates. She had never used the technique around him. He had absolutely no idea what was going to be coming at him, and that scared the hell out of him.

“No! Stop! Dont do this Natsumi! It’s still me! It’s still Ikamazu! Please, help me! I dont want to be like this anymore! I just want to be with-” Sinclaire was suddenly stopped by a tail slapping his face away. He blinked and turned back to see Natsumi with tears in her eyes. Righteous anger pushing those tears out.

“You are not Ikamazu!” She shouted before pushing her hands infront of her so that the palms were almost touching. The chakra that had coalesced at her head then formed into a tight violet ball of chakra right infront of her face. Tucking her elbows in, she eyed Sinclaire one last time before letting out a soft breath.  Then she thrust her arms forward and released the technique. “Take this! Tailed Beast Blast!” Suddenly a giant ball of chakra shot out at Sinclaire hitting him head on and entering his body. Sinclaire blinked then realized what was going to happen. Slowly he smiled.

‘Looks like I didnt really have it in me to kill you, Natsumi.’ With that final thought in his head, the tailed beast blast exploded from within Sinclaire, killing the shinobi that went to far into the dark.

Natsumi stared at the scene for what seemed an eternity. Then, almost painfully, she turned away from her battle grounds and headed off in the direction that she and the others were going. She still had a job to do.

__________

And thats the show. So, yeah I know, the whole time travel thing is a bit cliche, but I think I pulled it off well. Ikamazu is more or less the main hero of this story, he’s just a bit higher than Suna and Natsumi when it comes to plot points. So I decided to have Sinclaire be the Ikamazu of a now alternate future. And dont think that just becuase Sinclaire was alive means that Ikamazu will survive at all. Sinclaire set into motion many, MANY things that had never happened in his original timeline. Case in point, Sinclaire had Hidan and Ripcord join his little party for Tenkage. In the original timeline Tenkage fought alone. Bringing them back into the mix has changed things drastically already, so some events, such as Natsumi dying, might not happen either. You’ll just have to keep reading if you want to find out what happens.

Now since this was Sinclaires last chapter with him taking any direct action in the plot (Just cause he’s dead doesnt mean we wont see more of him in the things he set in motion or in flash backs that are COOL) I decided to do a double art this chapter. The first one will be of Sinclaire, that was drawn by my friend Jean. After White Shinobi saying he didnt really like his art (He didnt go that far as to say it, but jean and I bet that everyone would love their art, and if not, he could draw them, so yeah. BTW WS, I uploaded your alternate pic that jean did for you on the last chapter, check it out) Jean will now be the one who draws you guys. However, since I already drew NTG/Natsumi in her fox armor mode I’m also going to be posting that up too! That will sadly be my last art to post until chapter 19. Unfortunately, I only have the prototype pic, I upped her fox armor considerably since I first wrote this. Along with the head gear, chest plates, metal claws and tails, she’s also supposed to hand shin plates to protect her legs, metal clawed feet, and a white metal stomach plate to protect her midsection.  So enjoy!

It was about three hours later after Bob and J-sama’s defeat that a gravely injured Bob was able to drag him and Jay to the gates of Konoha. Upon arrival Bob promptly did what anyone would have done in his situation. He passed out. He enjoyed the darkness for a bit until he started to hear a voice giving out orders near him. Opening his eyes he saw Naruto and several other prominent shinobi surrounding him awaiting orders. Among them was the Anbu Captain, known by a few as Sai, Jounin Commander Shikamaru Nara, head of the Torture and Interrogation department Ino Uzumaki (I changed from a NaruHina to a NaruIno fan, they just work), the joint heads of the Hunter nin corps Kiba Inuzuka and Neji Hyuga, and healing him was the Legendary Medic Sakura Haruno. It was a veritable who’s who of Shinobi.

“Shikamaru, Sai, please put the village on high alert and mobilize at least four squadrons of the shinobi currently in Konoha, and I want Anbu at every key point in the village. Kiba, Neji, you need to follow the trail Bob left to where he battled and lost Tenkage. Try to find anything unusual or of possible use to us. Ino, can you please heal J-sama then after thats finished escort him and Bob to the holding center? I need to know what they know. And please call back Arashi from his training, if worse comes to worse he may need to help me. For now though, I’m going to see Sasuke.”

All the people he ordered nodded before going about the task they were assigned. Naruto then turned to the forest in front of him and closed his eyes before disappearing in a yellow flash. Bob blinked for a moment before trying to move alerting Sakura that he was awake. Moving a bit so he could sit up while still being healed, Sakura noticed the look of hopelessness in Bobs eyes. Bob just didn’t know what to do at the moment. The air was think with tension before Ino finally sighed while healing Jay and spoke up.

“I hope Naruto’s careful. Sasuke may have let him put a Hiraishin seal in his village but he ninja have orders to kill Naruto on sight. Not that they can, but still it only takes one mistake.” Ino said with worry. Sakura smiled encouragingly at her long time friend, but it was Bob that reassured her vocally.

“He’ll be fine, no matter what trouble Naruto gets into he’s made it out far better than others would have, myself included. Right now though we have bigger porblems, or at least I do. Tenkages loose, and he’s planning on destroying Shanaro before making the rest of the world a living hell.”

The two woman simply stared at Bob before shaking their heads in unison. “No, I cant accept that.” Sakura said firmly. “How did you stop him last time? maybe we could do it the same way.”

Bob shook his head, while trying to think of some way to control the situation. “We cant stop him the same way we did last time. Last time, Mart, Laydee Kay, Jay and I used our Gofuuungans to perform the Final Seal, and that was only after three days of harsh battle with him. Now I dont have the Gofuuungan and without it I cant help with the sealing. And it’s a week long trip from here to Shannaro without any spacetime jutsu support so Jay cant help either.”

“Isn’t there some way else to temporarily make him less of a threat? At least enough to where Naruto or Sasuke can take the creep down?” Ino asked Bob desperately.

Bob thought about it for a moment before shaking his head in resignation. “Not any way that I know of. Tenkages…different. It’s as if he has almost infinite chakra, and thats not something that can be easily overcome. And even after we put the final seal on him he was powerful enough to almost kill us. He’s too strong.”

“Wait a minute. If he didnt have access to his chakra, wouldn’t that cause him to-I dont know-be weakened to the point where almost anyone could take him down?” Sakura asked Bob, trying to find a way around this.

Bob thought for a moment. “Maybe. Granted, the Final Seal didn’t seal off his chakra, so it is possible that with no chakra access he could be taken down, but how could that happen?”

Ino finished healing Jay, before standing up to address Bob. “Well, Naruto mentioned that some of your ninja’s doujutsu changed into the Byakugan. That was one of he main reasons for the talks going on right now to determine the fate of the caged bird seal. So if some shinobi have the Byakugan, couldn’t they theoretically seal off all of Tenkages tenketsu?”

Bob blinked for a moment before a small spark of hope appeared across his face. “Yes, yes! Of course! I even know the person most capable of doing it too. Hold on for a second.” Bob said before he rummaged through his pocket and pulled out a small scroll. He opened it and quickly spoke into the scroll before closing it and making several handsigns. Finally he poured chakra through the scroll before pocketing it with a slight smile on his face.

“Now all we can do is wait and hope for the best.” Bob said before sighing and embracing the uncounsciouss world again.

__________

Far away in Shannaro NTG and Suna were glaring at each other with a sheer ferocious amount of intensity, with Ikamazu standing near them, sweat covering his brow. It was a horrific showdown truly, and the tension would have stayed at levels not fit for normal poeple had a small chirping sound not started up, coming from Ikamazu giant battle scroll secured on his back. Both Suna and NTG tried not to turn to the noise, but after a few seconds of the chirping a voice seemed to emenate from the scroll. “You’ve got mail!” The voice said.

Ikamazu and his team broke away from the ultimate staring contest final battle that had so far been going on for almost twenty minutes of non blinking madness to stare at the giant scroll that was now in Ikamazu’s hands with said boy looking at the scroll increduosly. “Dude, this thing claims I have mail.” Ikamazu said, slightly apprehensive towards the scroll.

“Well, open it then.” Suna said hesitantly. “You dont want to make the voice angry.”

Ikamazu shot a confused look to Suna before muttering “How?”.

At that NTG took the scroll from Ikamazu’s hands and stared at it intently trying to unlock it’s secrets before speaking. “Open mail.” She called out expirementally. The scroll instantly obeyed and words started to appear on the outside of the scroll soon accompanied by Bobs voice.

“Ikamazu, listen up. Natsumi, Suna I hope you’re there too. I don’t really want to do this, but with me and Jay too far from Shannaro to help, Laydee Kay missing, and with Mart off on a mission, I have no choice but to give you three a mission that could very well get you killed. That being said, if you dont take this mission you’ll likely die soon anyways so it is far better to at least give you a fighting chance. So here is your mission.”

“An S-class Rouge Shinobi (Not someone who’s abandoned a village like a missing nin, but who was considered too dangerous to still be apart of a village) is currently targeting Shannaro, and intends to destroy it. Before that can happen you three along with another team member must put a stop to him and his two servants. To do this, you must find Zep Wulfex, our top Byakugan user and support him long enough for him to seal off Tenkages chakra before you can pool your strength together to use the Final Seal technique inside Ikamazus scroll. Ikamazu you will have to be in charge of this mission since your scroll holds the Final Seal, but if he seems too much for you fall back immediately and have Guruku round up everyone for an evacuation. As far as I know, the only place where Tenkage could be hiding out near Shannaro is around the mountain ranges  where our first team excersice took place. I have the utmost faith in you and I beg Kami that you make it back home alive. Bob out.”

The three young shinobi continued to stare at the scroll for a while before the last of Bob’s words disappeared from the surface and the chilling realization that their lives may end as the day does set in. Finally, after what seemed an eternity, Ikamazu turned from his team and sighed. “Alright then, lets split up and search for this Zep guy and meet at the gates in two hours time. Hopefully we’ll be ready to head out by then.”

“Actually, I know where Zep is Ikamazu.” Suna said moving a bit to face his teammate. “I’ll get to him and tell him about the mission. You and Natsumi head over to the gate right now and wait for us, it wont take long” With that Suna nodded to his two teammates before leaping onto the nearby rooftop and made a bee line towards his house.

After three minutes he reached his home and walked into his back yard before tapping the tree in his yard three times on the knoll and pulling one of the branches. The trunk of the tree then extended forward slightly before bisecting and moving to the sides of the tree to reveal a large entrance in the tree with a metal pole in the center. He went down the pole and arrived shortly in a large, dark underground war room with a few jutting hallways. Suna stared into the dim room before calling out to his friend.

“Zep! Hey Zep! Get your butt over here now, we have a serious mission!” Suna yelled into the darkness, causing the lights to go off and illuminate the whole room. Soon after yelling, a figure appeared at the end of one of the hallways before sprinting straight towards Suna. Suna merely raised an eyebrow before a grin plastered onto his face.

Zep Wulfex, or as he preferred to be known as, ZepWolf X, was perhaps Suna’s best friend. The two of them had grown up as friends, so it was good to see each other again after almost five days of not causing any mayhem. “What’s up Suna?” Zep asked excitedly. “You said something about a mission?”

The grin left Suna’s face and he nodded towards Zep in all seriousness. “Yeah, and it’s a big one. You need to fill in to complete the four man team for my squad. We’re heading out to try and stop Tenkage”

Zep seemed to go inhumanly motionless for a second before he let out a short breath. He nodded to Suna in understanding and the two left the underground room, heading towards the surface. “So, this is for real huh? You know we probably wont come back.” Zep said to his friend.

Suna nodded and kept staring forward. “Yeah, I know. Hey, I always meant to ask, why do you insist on making our base underground?”

Zep shrugged as they hit the surface and started heading towards the gate. “Easier to see above than below I guess. Besides if the village gets invaded we have a secret bunker for everyone to mobolize in the heart of the village. I’ve been extending it too, so now it also connects to WS’s house. A few more weeks and we’ll have over a dozen connections in the village for quick and easy usage.”

“Cool.” Suna said, hoping that they would even survive long enough to accomplish Zep’s task. “Oh, there they are.”

Suna and Zep finally reached the waiting NTG and Ikamazu. The four nodded to each other before heading out the gates to try to take on one of the most dangerous men in the world.

__________

“It’s big you guys.” Ikamazu commented to the rest of the Anti-Tenkage team. “It’s almost too big. I’ve never seen anyone with this much chakra before.” Ikamazu closed his eyes in a somber mood, took off his goggles, and turned towards his teammates. He blinked away the vertigo he felt from switching from the chakra seeing goggles to regular sight. “We need to rush him and take him down before he can do anything.”

Suna took his attention off of directing the hawk they were on to stare at his teammate as if he were delusional. “Heres the problem with that. We’re facing a senior ninja who may be over seventy years old but is still considered one of the most dangerous people in the world thus he has incredible battle experience. Along with that he was once a Genkage and so must have at least contributed several jutsu of his to that scroll on your back making it hard to surprise him with a secret technique from said scroll. Finally he has more chakra than I do when in my Nogan state and you barely managed to tie with me.”

“I beat you!” Ikamazu shouted in indignation.

“Keep telling yourself that.” Suna said. “Anyways, all that being said, do you really think a rushing attack will buy Zep enough time to seal this guys chakra?”

Ikamazu growled at Suna’s question in annoyance and turned away from his teammate to scan the flowing trees below. If it wasn’t for the fact that they were flying on their way to their possible doom he would be whooping in joy at the ability to fly on the back of this giant hawk.

“We have the advantage of surprise. I’m sure that Tenkage wouldn’t be expecting an attack so soon after just being freed. Also, were coming in through the sky, a perfect vantage point to ensure that our enemy isn’t aware of us. Besides I have a plan.”

Suna scoffed at turned ahead again, focusing on flying his hawk. “Please, enlighten us to this plan of yours.”

“It’s a simple plan really. We drop from the hawk one at a time. I go first and attack him point blank with a Chakra Pulse to screw with his chakra control before I start to absorb as much chakra as I can from him to weaken him. NTG, you come second, and as I’m absorbing his chakra you disorient him physically with your Fox Shriek. The mix of ultrasonic and bass vibrations will leave him in an uncontrolled state of vertigo. Zep comes in third, he seals away all of Tenkage’s tenketsu and deals any damage that he can while he’s at it. Once he’s out of the way, Suna, you go into your Nogan state and start beating the crap out of Tenkage while the rest of us prepare the Final Seal. Once we’re ready, you come over and provide the final amount of chakra for us to seal up Tenkage. Mission accomplished.” Ikamazu finished with a smug smile.

The rest of his team blinked before Natsumi sighed and sent Ikamazu an apologetic look. “Ikamazu, it cant be that simple. If I use the Fox Shriek you’ll get hurt by it too since you’d be so close to Tenkage.”

Ikamazu shrugged. “Well I-”

“And also,” Zep interrupted, “I would get the best results with sealing the tenketsu if my opponent is also standing. I cant guarantee that if he’s hunched over in pain.”

Zep swallowed nervously a bit before responding. “Okay, I can see how tha-”

“And another thing.” Suna added, cutting Ikamazu off. “What about those other two guys that Bob-sensei mentioned? Those one’s that busted Tenkage out in the first place? You think that they’re just going to stand around and do nothing?”

Ikamazu was now red in the face with a mix of embarrassment and anger. “Hey, who’s the leader here? Me, so when I say-”

“And one more thing.” A low, unfamiliar voice softly spoke up. “Do you really think I wouldn’t be able to tell that there were four powerful ninja riding a summons and heading straight towards my location?”

Wide eyed, all four of the teens turned as one to the source of the voice to see an extremely muscular man in tattered clothing standing atop of the summoned hawk they were on. Tenkage smirked a bit at the frightened expression on his preys faces before he disappeared in a blur and appeared again behind Natsumi. In a move too quick to follow, let alone defend against, Tenkage grabbed the girls head in one giant palm and began to squeeze causing Natsumi to scream in pain.

“NO!” Ikamazu shouted in fear before he rushed towards Tenkage, unfurling his giant scroll, followed closely by Zep, and Suna bringing up the rear. The whole hawk was twenty yards long. It took Ikamazu less than half a second to travel the seven yards to reach Tenkage. In that short distance and time, Natsumi had finally activated her fox cloak and stabbed her chakra tail right through Tenkage’s abdomen. Reacting on pure instinct Tenkage released her to clutch his wound when Ikamazu activated one of the seals in the scroll.

“Secret Art! Enemy Controller!” He shouted. As soon as the seal was activated, Tenkage seemed to lose control of his body. Using this to his advantage, Ikamazu pulled NTG towards him and unleashed a full powered Chakra Light Wave point blank on Tenkage. He didn’t let up for  full thirty seconds before he ran out of chakra and cancelled the attack. As soon as he did, he saw Tenkage move in to attack him and Natsumi but missed as Natsumi moved Ikamazu and herself away. Tenkage missed his shot and instead punched a giant hole right through the body of Suna’s hawk. The hawk screeched in pain, taking Suna’s full attention as Zep rushed in to attack.

Zep had activated his Byakugan as soon as Ikamazu began his attack and had therefor seen how Tenkage was barely getting damaged. So he used the thirty seconds that Ikamazu wasted on the attack to prepare for one of his own strongest attacks. His palms glowing pure white Zep reached out and placed a single palm on Tenkage’s back. “Eight Trigrams: Buddha’s palm!” He shouted. A titanic force then seemed to enter Tenkage’s body and effectively exploded seventy percent of his internal organs at once. Tenkage immediately spat blood up onto the hawk before he chuckled.

“I love the feeling of death.” He said, turning his smirking face toward Zep. “There’s no high like it.”

Zep stared wide eyed at the man-no monster- in front of him before Tenkage grabbed his ankle. However before Tenkage could do anything to Zep, Natsumi stabbed her tail right through Tenkage’s body again. “If you like being high so much,” Natsumi began as she lifted Tenkage off of the hawks body and high above her, “I’ll make sure you have one hell of a fall!” With that, Natsumi flung Tenkage high up into the air, far higher than they themselves were, though they had already descended a large amount due to the hawks failing body.

It was at that moment that Suna finally stepped away from the hole in his hawks body and turned to face Tenkage, ready to make him pay for hurting one of his friends in such a way. His hawks were his family, and he’d be damned before he let someone do this to one of his hawks and get away with it. So when he saw Tenkage get flung high into the air, Suna activated his Nogan, his eyes turning a bloody red instead of purple. In one swift motion he took off his weighted shin guards and his heavy gourd of sand, ran across the length of his hawk, and leaped high up into the air after Tenkage.

As he leapt towards the evil man, Suna dipped into his pocket and pulled out an old dirty hilt. Focusing his Nogan, he poured an obsene amount of chakra into the hilt, activationg it’s power. Once Suna was at Tenkage his hilt began to glow an eerie black before something long and sharp burst forward from the hilt. “Awaken the sixth blade, the cursed sword. Dessimate, Darkseid!”

Tenkage’s eyes widened as he saw the black glow that Suna was holding solidify into an terrifying pure black scimitar. What was truly frightening about the sword was that it had no end to the blade, the blade actually went along the whole length of the sword, having no hilt the blade also cut into Suna’s hand, his blood being absorbed by the blade and making the blade larger and more wicked looking. Suna smirkedevily as he saw a momentary flicker of fear pass over Tenkages face. “Prepare to suffer.” Suna snarled in malicious glee.

Evil Blade Technique: Razor Suffocation.” Suna slashed the blade parralel to Tenkages body and immediately all the air in Tenkages lungs was cut out of him, slicing out of his chest in a rush to fill the vacuum Sunas slash made. The next thing Tenkage knew, he was plummeting towards the ground. Suna had used the air he slashed out of Tenkages lungs and redirected it to strike Tenkage like a bullet. Tenkage briefly looked up to see Suna falling towards him as well, his sword pointing straight at Tenkages body.

Evil Blade Technique: Bloody Joust.” Suna’s blade suddenly shrunk as a large spear made of the blood Suna had fed into the blade so far erupted forth and stabbed right into Tenkage’s body, propelling him straight towards the ground where he made a small crater from the impact. Before he could rise to start a counter attack however Suna threw his cursed blade straight into the ground.

Evil Blade Death Blow!” Suna roared in anger. “Deathly Sword Mirage!” Tenkage was immediately thrown into a world of pain as his whole body was suddenly pierced by a small valley of bladed weaponry springing forth from the ground. Spears, swords, lances, kunai, and other bladed weapons of death buried him in an avalanche of steel and pain before his voice ceased.

Releasing his Jutsu, Suna landed on the ground next to his sword and pulled it out of the dirt before turning it back into his hilt. Suna felt an immediate release of pressure as the cursed blades influence was sealed away and sighed. He turned towards Tenkages broken form and stepped towards him when out of no where he felt an increibly sharp pain in his head. He fell to his knees in agony and clutched his skull before seeing a shadow fall over him. Tenkage, bloody and bruised badly, was smirking down at him.

“Interesting. You have so much potential, you intrigue me greatly. Ah, ah, ah.” Tenkage suddenly said mockingly as Suna thought of a way to get out of the situation. “Dont fight me. I am in your mind perfectly. Your strenght has impressed me, as has that goggles boy. Sadly I cannot have you both, but who knows I may end up getting the pair soon.”

“Out…” Suna struggled to say. “Get out…of…my head.”

Tenkage shook his head, smirking. “You cannot resist. It is better to just allow the pain to stop, it is inevitable that you will fail in the end. You will serve me.”

Suna struggled with all his might, trying to put the power of his Nogan behind his mental defenses and drive tenkage out. “I will…never… serve you.” He said.

A dark look suddenly crossed Tenkages face before he raised his hand towards Suna and stomped his foot. “YES! YOU! WILL!” Tenkage roared.

Finally, with those three words, Tenkage broke all the way through Suna’s mental defenses and invaded Suna’s mind entirely. He laughed in malicious glee as he set to work destroying Suna’s personality, and turn him into his perfect little soldier. Suna writhered on the floor, crying out for everything to stop, before his voice halted in a moment. His body relaxed and his eyes stared blankly up at Tenkage as things suddenly seemed to make sense to him.

“Suna No Ken.” Tenkage said to the teenage on the floor. Suna turned his full attention towards Tenkage.

“Yes, my master?” Suna responded.

Tenkage grinned before raising his hand towards the boy. “Rise.”

Enjoy!

First Chapter
Previous Chapter

In the early morning light, Shannaro was enjoying one of the now rare times of day when ninja were’nt causing an extreme ruckus. Many of the villagers just couldnt understand it. How could the village go from such a normal military dictatorship to such a hyper and over the top village? The answer? The new influx of teenage ninja with their hormones and bottomless stomachs and constant annoying energy. Still at least the village was peaceful in the morning. *BOOM! BOOM! CRACK! SHATTER! KABOOM!* “Agh! My leg!” Well, at least it was a peaceful morning.

Ten minutes later, the source of the commotion walked through the main gates of Shannaro. Three people, one girl walking tall and proud, and two boys who were walking defeated and dejected next to her, stopped in front of the check in booth before getting clearence to enter the village. Once they were a good deal inside the village the girl cracked her neck and smirked at her two slaves-er-teammates.

“Now then, what have we learned today?” NTG asked the two boys with a voice laced with superiority. The two boys shuddered before letting out a breath and turning to the source of all evil in their lives. The boys opened their mouths and as one spoke.

“No one, no matter what, can ever say that you cant completely dominate a fight with out chakra cloak. You are and always will be the undisputed badass of this team.” Suna and Ikamazu droned out. NTG smirked and stood tall, a feeling of utter awesomeness surrounding her.

“Damn straight.” She said walking forward, her team trailing behind. Ikamazu sighed and reflected on what went wrong with his plan. He and Suna should have overwhelmed Natsumi with their numbers alone. What with Suna turning the dirt into sand and making sand clones, and him with his long range remote controlled chakra balls, it should have been an easy win. But Natsumi completely destroyed combo C with only her flexibilty (which gave both boys their fair share of nasal blood loss) and a Kunai. Ikamazu would have dwelled on this fact for a while longer if it wasnt for a sudden and unwelcome weight crashing into his body.

Using his ninja reflexes and strength to stay standing as if nothing happened, Ikamazu looked down towards the small boy that had crashed into him. The boy simply looked up at Ikamazu wide eyed and mouth gaping before his eyes caught sight of the hitai-ate (forehead protector) on his arm, making the boy go crazy with excitement.

“Omigosh! Ninja! Ninja! You’re a ninja! You guys are awesome!” The boy rushed out, moving from Ikamazu to Suna to Natsumi and back to Ikamazu again.

The team could only chickle lightly at the kids antics before Ikamazu ruffled the kids hair. “Well most of us are awesome. There are a few lamoes however, my teammate Suna for example.” Ikamazu said, pointing at his male teammate. Suna only narrowed his eyes a bit at the jab before Suna uncorked his small hip gourd and knelt down, waving the boy over.

“Dont listen to him kid, he doesnt know what he’s talking about. All Shannaro ninja are awesome. Wanna see something cool?” Suna asked. When he got an enthusiastic nod from the kid Suna moved his hands in an intricate pattern. Soon, his sand moved into a spiral before condensing into a solid small little figure. The boy gasped when he saw that the little figure looked just like him.

“COOL!” The boy shouted out before Suna unfurled a small scroll from his pocket and moved the figure onto it. “If you think that was cool, check this out. Seal activate!” Suna called, injecting some of his chakra into the scroll. A flash of fire quickly engulfed the sand figure in a tower of flame and super heated it into glass. After a second, Suna super cools the figure with his remaining sand and hands the now glass figure to the boy.

“Wow! Thanks mister ninja! I cant wait to show this off at school!!” With out another word the boy dashed off towards his school, leaving the three teens to smile in his direction. Suna put the rest of his sand back in his gourd and smirked at Ikamazu as NTG turned to Suna.

“That was nice of you.” She said, a mischevious glint in her eye.

Suna shrugged nonchalantly. “Yeah, well I try.” He said trying to act as modest as he could.

“Well you should try to control your jutsu better.” Ikamazu suddenly said with amusement. Suna turned to him with a questioning scowl before Ikamazu pointed up. “That flare you made just set two roofs on fire.” Ikamazu snickered out before falling to the floor laughing, Natsumi following soon after as they watched Suna Frantically run around and try to figure out a way to put out the fires. This would definately not be a good day.

__________

Twenty minutes after Suna’s little fire fiasco, Bob was called into the Genkage’s office. After another ten minutes of shouting about how Bob needed to teach his students better and how much the damages would cost Bob and J-sama settled into a familiar silence. The two of them got into their old grooves before talking about the days more pressing matters.

“Bob, Naruto is handing him over to us today. I know that it’s not my place to question the last Genkages final orders, but are you absolutely sure that you want to release him to Naruto only to give him to Sasuke? Who knows what the man will do with him?” Jay asked his friend. Bob rubbed his eyes and nodded slowly.

“Yes. I have no love for my former leader. He mercilessly killed the Sandaime, my sensei, and abandoned this village in a time when we deeply needed him. I only took up the position of Yondaime to fill in the gap and hunt him down, but events spiralled out of control.”

“The Kurogyouten” Jay interjected, to which Bob nodded.

“Exactly. Any ways, the point is that I don’t care what happens to that man. We personally ensured that he could never be a threat to us again so it doesnt matter what happens. Sasuke could do what ever he wants, his plan to be seen as a hero again will never work if the Nidaime is how he thinks he’ll do it. The only risk we’re taking is if Naruto finds out that we’re giving him to Sasuke.”

J-sama sighed out in exasperation before dipping under the table and pulling out a bottle of sake. He took a quick swig from the bottle and faced Bob again. “Alright then, I guess I have no choice. We’ll be going soon then. Naruto’s toad should appear in the lake outside the village soon to take us to Konoha. Then after we get him, we’ll rendezvous with Sasuke’s hawk and he’ll fly us to Kiri where we’ll drop him off and get on our merry way back home. If everything goes right we should be able to get back just before supper time.”

Bob cracked his neck and rose out of his seat, getting the kinks out of his arm. “Right then, lets get this show on the road.”

Jay and silent Bob-er-I mean Bob and J-sama, quickly left the village, heading for a small lake just outside of village lands. Once there, they were approached by a small toad flopping it’s way out of the water. After brief introductions the toad suddenly swallowed the two whole before re-entering the lake and vanishing beneath it’s surface.

__________

Five minutes later on the outskirts of Konoha J-sama and Bob were walking in a dead silence. J-sama hazard a look at Bob but immediately regretted it when his friend snarled in his direction. “I dont want to talk about it!” Bob shouted in Jay’s direction. Jay only raised his hands in submittance as Bob continued. “It was a completely natural reaction” Bob continued, Jay only remaining silent. “Besides, it’s not like-like-ah forget it!” Bob finally shouted, hurrying up so that they could reach Konoha faster.

Soon the two arrived at Konoha’s main gate where they were a bit surprised to already find Naruto, along with a whole contingent of Anbu surrounding a quadruple sealed human sized cage. They walked up to Naruto who nodded at them in recognition before getting out of his sage mode.

“Glad you two made it on time. Bob-san, J-sama-san. Well, here he is, ready and waiting for you two. I’m glad that he’s finally getting out of my village, but still is all this worth the risk of him getting free and causing all this destruction again? Who knows what Sasuke wants with him?” Naruto finished before looking slyly at the two Shannaro ninja who had their mouths agape. “Oh come one, did you really think I wouldnt know? When my rival makes a move I make a counter one. Shikamaru has taught me something after all these years after all.”

Bob was the first one to regain his composure and he feverently shook his hand in the air. “Well, nothing bads going to happen. I know what Sasuke intends to do and I assure you that it is of no threat to the elemental nations. He isnt even a threat anymore, not the way I left him.”

Naruto blinked in surprise before his whole expression darkened and he snarled at Bob. “You mean you dont know? No ofcourse not, how could you. This…monster got free’d by some radicals about ten years ago and had his powers unlocked again. He ran amok before I put him down again, and only through sheer numbers! He was free for two days and in that time he laid waste to the entire village hidden in the stars. I had friends there and dammit I couldnt even protect them. The most I could do was team up with the surviving nin and catch him in a trap. That’s why he’s so heavily gaurded, so if you think that little thing you did before will protect anyone, well I hope you’re prepared to deal with me if something goes wrong.”

Bob, to his credit, did not wet his pants. Not to say that he wouldnt have if he had any liguid left after that ride in the toad, but still no wet pants. Bob gulped audibly before taking the cage from Naruto and breathing deeply. “Listen Naruto-san, I understand the situation now and I’m sorry. I’ll make sure to repair what was destroyed befoe I give him over to Sasuke, but I assure you that he will not be  threat to anyone ever again. Thank you for keeping him, we’ll be on our way now.”

With a curt nod Bob and J-sama left the gates and headed back to the forest, Naruto’s gaze never leaving their backs. It wasnt until a few minutes later that Bob and Jay were finally able to breath correctly again after feeling that intense KI.

“That man is entirely too scary.” Jay said out loud, B0b only nodded, humming his agreement while looking up at the sky. He narrowed his eyes before placing the cage down and taking up a taijutsu stance.

“The damn bird should have been here by now.” Bob said, looking around closely for anything out of the ordinary, Jay doing the same. Suddenly two cloaked figures dropped from the tree line infront of the two fighters, one man with his hood up, covering his face, the other with a three prongged scythe.

“Oh come one now, like we all didn’t know this would end up as a trap.” Hidan said, laughing a bit at the two Shannaro ninja. The man with his hood up simply stepped forward and raised his hand as if waiting for something to be put in it.

“Give us the second Genkage now. If you do I promise you a swift and clean death.” Sinclaire said.

Bob and Jay only looked at each other before laughing out loud and pointing at the two obviously insane men. “Are you joking?” Bob managed to gasp out between laughs much to the enemies annoyance. “Listen, obviously you dont know who we are. We’re the fourth and fifth Genkage’s. Now unless you want to die very painfully I suggest you go.”

Hidan merely grinned wider then before rolling his arm that was carrying his scythe. “Have it your way then.” He said before he took off and closed in on J-sama. J-sama quickly took out a kunai and jumped over Hidan’s scythe slash, before stabbing the kunai to the hilt into the back of Hdans throat. Not wasting a single movement, Jay was already making handseals befor he touched the ground, where he suddenly pivoted on his foot to face Sinclaire who was moving towards Bob.

“Earth Style: Tectonic Engulfment!” Jay cried before slamming his hands on the ground. Immediately the ground beneath Sinclaire rose up and swallowed him whole burrying him sixteen feet under the surface. Letting out a single breath Jay relaxed a bit and turned to Bob. “That wasn’t so hard.” He said.

Just then, Hidan appeared right behind Jay, scythe pulled back and ready to slash J-sama’s head off. Then, quick as lightning, Bob appeared next to Hidan, grabbed his head, and threw him into the air. He quickly made a few handsigns before putting his hands in an “S” formation. “Wind Style: Slicing Gale!” The wind attack quickly made it to Hidan, cutting him up into six pieces and making him messily fall to the earth in a heap of his own blood. Bob smirked and raised a smug eyebrow at Hidans corpse. “Come back from that why dont you.” He said.

“I’d like nothing better!” Hidans severed head shouted before an explosion of force erupted up from the earth. In the cloud of dirt stood Sinclaire who raised a single hand and pointed it at Hidan. A very thin chakra string suddenly shot out of his hand and it quickly sewed Hidan back together before Bob or Jay could make a move. Hidan then cracked his neck and lifted his scythe pinting it at Bob. “You die first.”

Hidan sprang back into action, spinning like a top and changing the height of his scythe constantly making him a mini tornado of death. Bob pulled out a chain from a scroll and whipped it at Hidan, wrapping it around his scythe and making his stop. At that moment J-sama leapt from behind Bob and thrust his arms up. “Earth Style: Omega Avalanche!” Suddenly all the earth below hidan erputed out in a gigantic explosion, causing several large broken stones to impale his chest and strike his head. Before Hidan could recover Bob finished his hand signs.

“Fire Style: Fireball jutsu!” Bob shouted before he blew out a humongous ball of fire that headed straight to the rocks and boulers that J-sama made come out of the ground. That was when J-sama appeared behind Hidan and stabbed him through the heart with a Kunai and kicked him over the Sinclaire, where some good manuevarability on Bob’s part caused the two enemies to be wrapped up in the chain. Finally, J-sama finished his handsigns right before the flaming rocks were going to hit the earth again.

“Earth Fire Combo: Gigantic Meteor Shower!” With a single thrust forward J sent all the flaming rocks at his two opponents. However what should have ended the fight turned into their fatal flaw. Sinclaire, having seen the combo, had created an earth clone, which was what got captured with Hidan. So in one swift move after J-sama launched his attack, he sent out chakra strings that latched onto Bob and pulled hard causing bob to be sent flying into the oncoming attack, taking the full brunt of it. Bob cried out in pain before falling to the floor underneath a pile of flaming rubble. Jay looked horrified and started to move towards his frined but was suddenly frozen as Sinclaires hand plunged into his body causing extreme pain.

“Take this! Chakra Spike!” Sincalire called out before ripping his hand out of Jays body. Suddenly Jay felt an influx of chakra enter his system, more and more growing in his body before he blacked out and his body shut down. Sinclaire could only chuckle at before he kicked Jay’s downed body. “Poor fool, he only made it to the fourth gate before his body gave out on him. Too bad, I havent seen anyone die from that in ages, and I was sure a Genkage could do it. Ah well.” Sinclaire simply turned away from his fallen enemy and dispelled his earth clone effectively freeing Hidan. With that dont the two moved towards there prize, Hidan whining a bit.

“You know, the other two could have helped us out here.” Hidan commented, rubbing his sore neck.

Sinclaire’s features darkened before he spoke again. “I have no reason to ask help from the likes of them. The three of us went our seperate ways, which is why I was forced to seek you out. There not interested in becoming gods anymore.”

Before either one could continue talking, Bob crashed out of the flamming pile of rocks he was buried under. Gravely wounded and dead tired from the attack, Bob still tried to move fast enough to stop the two. Sinclaire only smirked and placed a hand on the cage making one handed seals.

“Soon, Shannaro will be burned to the ground.” He said before activating his jutsu, sending Hidan, the cage, and himself far out of the forest and into the land of Sun. Bob fell to his knees, lost, and horrifies at what just occured. He let one of the greatest threats to the world get captured. What the hell was going to happen now that they got him.

“Damn them, damn them all! Why would they free Tenkage?!” Bob shouted out in frustration, the silence of the forest his only answer.

__________

Deep in the mountainous borders of the land of Sun, Sinclaire and Hidan were making handsigns, staring at the cage with barely hidden glee. Finally they reached the last seal of their jutsu and promptly slammed their hands full force on the cage.

“Seal Release!” They shouted, and the first seal chain on the cage burst in a shower of light. The second and third seal chains were destroyed soon after, and finally after a long struggle, the fourth seal chain melted off of the cage, making the steel door swing wide open. Sincalire and Hidan stepped back for a moment so as to see the man trapped with in come out for the first time in a decade.

The man was a veritable giant, over six and a half feet tall and stockily built, his muscle mass not decreasing a bit despite lack of excercise. He had a rather long brown beard adorning his face now, and his hair had become long and greasy from the years of neglect. The tattered remains of his clothing left his chest bare, scares from his multiple battles showing themselves on it, and only his pants were still intact though filled with holes here and there. His face was rather sunken from the lack of nutrition, but his eyes were as angry and terrifying as ever. The heavens shadow, Tenkage as he now called himself, the second Genkage, killer of the third, self proclaimed tyrant of chaos, was free to walk the earth once again.

Almost immediately after stepping out of the confines of the cage Tenkage was confronted by Sinclaire. Tenkage narrowed his eyes at the man. “Who are you?” He asked.

Sinclaire merely bowed and clasped his fist over his heart in a salute to Tenkage. “I am Sinclaire Tenkage-sama. I am the one who organized your escape and wish to help you. I know many things, including the source of your power. I wish for your assistance in the future but for now I only wish to serve you and help you accomplish your goal of destroying Shannaro.” Sinclaire then stepped back next to Hidan and waited on bated breath.

Tenkage thought over what Sinclaire said and most of it made sense, there was just one thing however. “If you know the source of my power, then do you know how to release it from the last restraints of the damn seals Bob and Naruto placed on me?” He asked, decideing to kill himif he couldnt.

Sinclaire only smiled maliciously before nodding. “Yes, I do my lord.”

Tenkage felt his lips twitch up in the ghost of a smile as he moved to the front of the cave and breathed in the fresh air. He couldnt wait until it was polluted with the smell of his enemies burning corpses. “Then let us begin.” Tenkage announced.

__________

And thats the show you guys. Finally the beginning of the first arcs plot! What will happen now that Bob and J-sama are stranded out in the Konoha forest and no one is left to protect Shannaro, wait! Maybe there is. Yes I made Tenkage the first real enemy of this series, and I think I have a rather good back story for him, but all will be revealed later, however I do want to know what you think his power is. After all, he has a power source of great destruction, anyone wanna take a guess? And no it’s not a biju. Please comment people, I dont wanna lose to Zep, who BTW will be making hs first appearence in the series next chapter!

So now, we come to the fan art part again. As good as I am with drawing, I dont have much confidence in myself. So whenever I draw my own OC I’m never satisfied with it. So I decided to ask my friend Jenny to draw my OC for me, so here’s her version of my character Suna No Ken! Enjoy!

Shannaro Shippuden Ch.2 Battle for the scroll!

Alright, it’s time for the second chapter of Shannaro Shippuden! I was going to post this on Saturday but thought I’d get no traffic for it so I’m trying out Mondays. Now! Time for three teen ninja’s to beat each other into a bloody pulp!

First Chapter

Last Time:

The three ninja nodded at the order and turned to leave, but Bob spoke up once again. “Oh, and by the way, this isn’t a team excercise. This is a free for all. You must race your teammates for the scroll, even fighting them off if you have to. Who ever makes it back here with the scroll will be allowed to keep it as a reward. Now on your ready… get set…GO!”

As soon as the words were out of Bobs dust cloud with holes in the shape of his three students appeared. Bob laughed and wished his students good luck. They were going to need it.

Ikamazu, Suna, and NTG (Nine Tailed Girl), all raced forward, each hoping to be the first to get to the tree line. That is, until Suna suddenly snapped his fingers and slid to a stop, hand signs flowing. Ikamazu and NTG noticed too late and were barely making their own handsigns when Suna finished and slammed his palms on the ground.

“Sand Style: Quicksand Prison!” Suna shouted, transforming the ground beneath his teammates into quicksand. Ikamazu and NTG cried out in panic as they felt themselves plummet into the gooey substance until only their chest was above the sand. Suna laughed at his teammates before sticking out his tounge at them. “Sorry you guys, but I’m taking you out now before you can do anything to stop me. I’ll let you out after I win this little challenge and claim my prize. Later!” Suna then turned from his team and dashed into the forest beyond.

“I really hate him!” Ikamazu snarled before struggling against the quicksand some more. He tried to force his way out but his body was really stuck to the sand. “Dammit all to- gah!” Ikamazu flinched in pain as a bright light accompanied by a certain amount of heat appeared directly to his left. Turning his head, he saw NTG covered in what appeared to be an aura of pure chakra in the shape of a fox. Grinning, the girl focused and two chakra palms shot out from her head and latched onto the ground outside of the quicksand. With one great heave, the arms pushed up and shot NTG up and out of the quicksand prison.

NTG landed gracefully on the soft ground just outside the area of quicksand and deactivated the chakra cloak. She pumped her fist in the air at escaping then ran straight to the forest infront of her. “Take that Suna! Your sand wasnt enough to hold Natsumi the Nine Tailed Girl! Just wait ’til I catch up to you!” NTG roared as she entered the forest, leaving Ikamazu as the only one left.

Ikamazu looked around slowly, making sure no one was around, before he closed his eyes and focused. Suddenly, what appeared to be an aura of chakra surrounded him as well before it all flowed down straight into his feet and exited in a rush, propelling him out of the quicksand. Shaking his head a little mid flight, Ikamazu poured out a little more chakra out of his feet, turning him in the right direction before he landed and bee lined for the forest, thus beginning the real battle.

Bob smiled and grunted in satisfaction upon seeing Ikamazu escape the prison on his own. The boy was cautious with displaying his powers, but he was sure that Ikamazu would lose that paranoia once his score with Suna was settled, what ever that may be. Plopping down onto his back he stared up at the sky and waited for a moment before the sound of battle could be heared. “Ahh, music to my ears.”

__________

Suna was confidently jumping to his destination when he heard a crashing sound behind him. Turning his head he almost shrieked as he saw a gigantic chakra claw break through every tree between it and him. With no way to dodge mid-jump, Suna manipulated the sand from his gourd to create a mid-sized barrier in front of him. The chakra claw impacted the barrier with enough force to scatter the sand much to Suna surprise, and the claw grabbed Suna in an iron grip before pulling him to it’s source.

Suna’s eye’s widened when he realized what had happened. “NTG! How did you get out of my quicksand?” Suna shouted to the girl as she came into view. NTG simply rolled her eyes before bringing Suna up close so she could look at him face to face.

Slightly growling NTG spoke up. “It wasnt easy thats for sure, but dammit if it wasnt messy. I mean come on Suna, you just ruined my clothes here!” NTG shouted in Suna’s ear dazing the boy a bit and leaving him wondering wether or not he’d go deaf. “I dont have anything against you,” NTG continued, “but this is a contest. So no hard feelings for what I’m about to do okay?” Suna blinked then widened his eyes as a sadistic smirk crossed NTG’s lips and the chakra claw extended out again before dipping slightly. “Happy trails!” NTG yelled out laughing before she flung Suna into the air in the opposite direction.

Suna flew over the tree tops and scowled at his predicament. He was going to crash soon. He did not want to crash. He could easily save himself, but he wanted to win the competition on his own, and the only way to not crash meant getting help, something he didnt want to do. On the other hand, if he didnt do something he’d be out of the competition. “Why is their never a good solution?” Suna wondered aloud as he went through several hand signs and slammed his palms down onto his knees. “Summoning jutsu!”

Suddenly a large cloud of smoke surrounded Suna and a mightly shriek was heard. Less than a second later a rather large hawk, easily three times the size of a man, flew straight out of the cloud, Suna ridding on it’s back. With a simple tap of his foot, the hawk dove down closer to the tree line and flapped it’s mighty wings.

“C ‘mon Takarou, we got a lot of ground to recover. NTG threw me pretty far.” Suna told his hawk, the bird only crying out a challenge to the others in response. Suna grinned as the air blew in his face and the ground below flowed past him. There was no feeling like flying.

“Secret art! Chakra Disruption Pulse!” A voice shouted from below. A moment later, Suna and his hawk were hit with a gentle wave of chakra before Takarou poofed out of existance and Suna plummeted back down to the trees. Suna, fell back into the forest and quickly latched onto a tree branch, regaining his bearings and turning to find the source of the attack when he was suddenly struck on the side by a flying ball of chakra. Suna spun in the air and hit a tree hard cracking the bark from the impact. Groggily, Suna looked up just in time to see Ikamazu smirk in Suna’s direction and take off deeper into the forest. Suna scowled as he realized he had lost the lead to both his teammates now. He stayed like that for a while before he vocalized his feelings on the situation.

“Karma sucks.” Suna said before pushing himself off of the tree and taking off in the same direction as Ikamazu. Hopefully he could still catch up.

__________

NTG was actually enjoying her self. It wasnt often that she got to run around in a giant forest, and the feeling was rather refreshing for her. Cloaked in her fox like chakra aura and running at top speed, she felt rather free. At least she did until Ikamazu decided to rain on her parade by suddenly appearing next to her.

“Hey NTG” Ikamazu commented with a smile as he continued to run next to her. “Don’t worry I’m not going to attack. I was just wondering if you wanted to have a little fun.” Ikamazu asked, turning to NTG with a curious look in his eyes.

Immediately NTG made a show of gagging and looked at Ikamazu increduously. “I cannot believe you’re trying to hit on me in the middle of a competion. I dont want to have any fun with you perv!” NTG finished in a huff and controlled her chakra tail to slap Ikamazu in the face for even considering something like that.

Ikamazu nearly tripped in shock and pain before regaining his balance and blushing heavily at what NTG was accusing him of doing. “No! I didnt mean it like that! I was just going to ask if you wanted to bet on which of us would make it to the scroll first! Jeeze!” Ikamazu defended, causing NTG to blush in emberassment this time.

“Ah, sorry about that then.” She said, looking away momentarily. It was then that Suna landed on the other side of her and nodded at her a bit peeved.

“That was a bit much dont you think?” He asked NTG who only stiffled a giggle at the boys expression. She rolled her eyes and turned forward again. “And by the way, I wouldnt mind taking that bet Ikamazu.” Suna said to his male teammate.

Ikamazu only narrowed his eyes but smiled at the challenge. “Alright then.” Ikamazu said, turning to the boy slightly. “Last one to the scroll buys dinner for the other two.”

Suna and NTG cheered at the proposal before Ikamazu focused and an aura of chakra surrounded his body. It slowly concentrated into his legs and he suddenly shot forward, gaining more and more ground over Suna and NTG. “See you two later!” He cried out as he accelerated a bit more.

NTG gasped slightly in shock before she leaped forward and extended her body. She impacted on the ground hand first and simply continued to run forward on all fours, picking up some incredible speed and soon she was passing Ikamazu. The boy chuckled a bit at the girl and started to enjoy the run before he felt a large disturbance of chakra directly behind NTG and himself. The two turned as one before seeing Suna surrounded in a glowing aura of chakra, his hair standing on end and his eye’s having turned from a light brown to a deep purple. Suna opened his mouth and only one word came out.

“Nogan.” He said softly before his body seemed to disappear and a large gust of wind blew right past them. NTG and Ikamazu only stared forward at where the blur that had been Suna had disappeared to, the sound of falling tree’s growing more and more distant. NTG couldnt believe what she had seen and her mouth hanged open while Ikamazu growled and stomped his foot into the ground, teeth grit in anger.

“Damn him. He’s gotten even faster.” He said. NTG blinked and turned to Ikamazu, confusion etched on her face.

“How did he do that?” She asked, slightly apprehensive about the answer she would recieve.

Ikamazu scowled and clenched his fist before answering NTG. “Suna No Ken has what is called the Nogan. It’s a special doujutsu that is a mutation of our old gofuuungan. As far as I know he is the only one who possesses that particular doujutsu. It doesnt enhance his sight at all like the sharingan or Byakugan, but acts more like the Rinnengan as it gives the user special enhancements.”

“Enhancements?” NTG asked.

“Yeah. When Suna uses his Nogan his chakra skyrockets and his speed and strength increase dramatically. He can also use his hilt of ten blades in that form since he doesnt have to risk running out of chakra after using them. It’s an almost perfect ability for a swordsman like him to have.”

NTG gulped and turned back to the path of destruction Suna had left before something Ikamazu said clicked in her brain. “Wait a minute, you said almost. An almost perfect ability. Is there something wrong with it?”

At the question Ikamazu smiled and a strange look entered his eyes. “Yeah, theres a huge problem. You see, it times out. Suna is almost all powerful for five minutes after he activates the damn thing, but as soon as he times out he drops like a rock and is completely useless. He only uses his Nogan as a means of last resort, which is exactly what I wanted our race to become, now I’ll be able to fight him when he has less than five minutes in that form, just enough for me to stall him and take the scroll. Speaking of which, can I ask a favor?” Ikamazu asked turning to NTG, his right eyebrow raised in question.

NTG shook her head and sighed before turning to Ikamazu. She could probably hold Suna off if she used that but the way Ikamazu described Suna made her wary. She would need to see Suna’s Nogan in action first before she could accurately take him on, and she just didnt have that luxury. Still though, Ikamazu seemed to know a lot about Suna’s ability. He could probably stand a chance.

“What kind of a favor?” She finally asked.

__________

Suna was speeding back to the starting point of the competition with a smile on his face. He had just gotten the giant scroll from the chest with about twenty minutes to spare. He had the scroll secured on his back now and quickly did some math. With his sonic speed sword Silfarion boosting his already impressive Nogan speed to the fifth degree, it had only taken him forty seconds to traverse the last ten miles from his starting point to the chest. That meant that when he reached the point where he left Ikamazu and NTG about a minute and twenty seconds would have elapsed leaving him three minutes fourty seconds left in his Nogan state. With fourty more miles to go at fourty seconds everyt ten mile he’d reach Bob with a whole minute to spare. Kami bless his super swords, with out them he knew he would never make it in time.

Just as Suna was about to reach where he left Ikamazu and NTG however, something crazy small and fast entered his line of sight. Reacting on instinct Suna ducked down below the flying object only to have Ikamazu suddenly appear in front of him, leg reared back and the arc of it lined directly with Suna’s chin. Only one thought went through Suna’s mind. ‘Cra-‘

Ikamazu swung his leg full force and smiled as he felt the impact with Suna’s chin sending the boy flying off through the air. Ikamazu tracked Suna’s flight path and in a stream of light, went up a tree and leaped over Suna, fists cocked back and waiting. “Pay back time! Secret art! Thousand Exploding Fists!” As Suna reached Ikamazun in the air, Ikamazu unleashed a furious barrage of chakra covered punches on Suna’s body. In the span of a few seconds Ikamazu bombarded Suna with exactly 999 punches with the thousanth punch sending Suna plummeting back down to the forest’s surface. Ikamazu landed on the forest floor softly and heard Suna’s grunts of pain as he stood back up from the onslaught, some sand armor that Suna had put on before hand crumbling down in front of him. Ikamazu made a soft ‘tch’-ing sound and pointed at Suna. Suna’s body instantly began to glow as all of the chakra Ikamazu used in the attack became visable on Suna, the chakra sticking to his form ominously.

“Blast!” Ikamazu shouted and Suna’s body exploded in a flash of light. Smoke from the chakra bombs covered the whole area and engulfed the two shinobi in a sea of white. Ikamazu covered his eyes with his goggles and focused his chakra into them. Immediately he was able to see the chakra signatures of everything around him, inculding Suna. Ikamazu grit his teeth as he realised that Suna wasnt down for the count yet. He was still pouring out insane amounts of chakra, and even though he wasnt moving at the moment he could tell that it wasnt because he was too injured to go on, but because the boy was thinking.

“How?” Suna’s voice suddenly asked. “How can you keep up with me and damage me this badly? Kami knows I’m not invincible, but only six people I know have ever got me like this. And i know for a fact that you were’nt this strong before. So how?” Suna waited for a few moments, and just when he thought Ikamazu wasn’t going to answer he was pleasently surprised.

“I cant use jutsu. I’m not entirely sure why, but whenever I try to use a jutsu it doesnt work. Instead, I can absorb and manipulate pure chakra how ever I want. For me, it really is the fact that the more chakra I have the stronger I am. So I asked NTG for a favor. She-I mean wow-she has some absolutely crazy reserves. Apparently that’s her mutation. It’s why she could make a cloak of chakra similar to a Jinchurikki’s. I digress, NTG allowed me to absorb almost all of her chakra, leaving her only enough to summon one of her foxes so that she could get back to Bob. After absorbing her chakra I absorbed five of my chakra infused scrolls to increase my power. I currently have enough chakra flowing through my system to perform ten A-rank Ninjutsu and still be able to kick your ass.”

Suna blinked in amzement before forcing himself up. He wasted enough time already. He was nearing his two minute mark, and if he didnt hurry, he wouldnt make it to Bob before he timed out. Ikamazu tensed as the cloud of smoke dispersed and he saw Suna, standing up with his sword extended by his side. Ikamazu started to attack but Suna whipped his sword forward and unleashed a hellish amount of chakra.

“Silfarion Speed Technique! Sonic Winds!” Suna shouted. He slashed his sword through the air and straight to his side before he seemed to disappear before Ikamazu. Ikamazu blinked in surprise and turned his head to see Suna’s chakra signature getting further and further away. He started to move but was suddenly sliced by razor sharp gusts of wind trying to fill the vacuum that Suna left behind, right before he was blown backwards by a sonic boom.

It took little time for Ikamazu to recover, and only a bit longer to get over the fact that Suna had used a technique to temporarily reach the speed of sound. Growling in anger at being shown up again, Ikamzu focused all the chakra that he had absorbed and forced it to surround his whole body. In a moment a huge wave of chakra surged forth form him as he was then covered in almost living flames of color and chakra, his body feeling more powerful instanly. All the chakra he had stored was being used all at once and surrounding him.

“Chakra Outburst!” Ikamazu cried before cracking his neck. “Lets see if your Nogan’s better than this Suna!” Ikamazu started to speed off after Suna, pumping chakra into his legs to make him go faster. Soon, he started to pour chakra out of his back to propel him even faster and it was a minute later that he finally caught up to Suna, as they reached the twenty mile mark. Grinning at having the element of surprise, Ikamazu thrust both arms forward and forced a large stream of pure bright chakra out towards Suna. “Secret art! Chakra Light Wave!”

Suna could only register some one shouting behind him before he was hit by a massive beam of pure energy. He cried out in pain as he felt his body burn and muscles feel as if they were on fire. He dropped like a fly and started to roll forward on the forest floor, eventually skidding to a stop. Not a second later he felt Ikamazu by his side before he reached down and tore the scroll off of Suna’s back, securing on his own instead.

“Dont bother getting up.” Ikamazu said to Suna’s struggling form. “You only have a minute left in that form, and we’re way to far out for you to reach Bob in time in your state. But dont worry, I’ll make sure to hand this scroll over to him and collect the prize.” Ikamazu laughed. He began to walk away from Suna but suddenly froze as he saw a flash of yellow light behind him. Turning, he saw Suna struggling up to his feet with a new sword forming in his hand. “Unlock the first blade, the light in the darkness. Shine, Sunlight Heart!” The sword in Suna’s hand finally finished changing shape into the form of a long sword. Suna pointed it at Ikamazu and poured out his chakra. “MAX POWER! Sunlight Crusher!”

Suna’s sword exploded in a bright yellow light before it engulfed his body and propelled forward straight at Ikamazu. Ikamazu tried to block the attack but Suna’s sword stabbed through his defense and pierced through Ikamazu’s left side. Ikamazu yelled in pain and felt the wound with his hands, reassuring himself that using nearly all his chakra for the chakra armor he made at the last second had indeed protected him from the worst of the attack.

Ikamazu spun towards where Suna had landed only to see the teen with his Sunlight Heart swung in and arc behind his back, a glare in his eyes that promised pain, and an outpour of chakra to signal a very painful attack.

Suna growled as he swung his sword. “MAX POWER! Sunlight Slasher!” Suna swung Sunlight Heart across his body and an arc of fire exploded forth from the bladed, striking Ikamazu right across the chst leaving a burning gash on his body. Ikamazu struggled to stay up after the attack, trying to still look threatening, but only having enough strength for a soft glare. Suna huffed in exhaustion and slowly dropped to a knee, the effects of his Nogan fading away with only half a minute left. Slowly he looked up at Ikamazu who was trying to move towards him, triumph filling his eyes.

“Ha…I guess…I win Suna. You’re gonna time out soon, and when you do, you’ll drop like a brick of lead. And theres no way you can stop it!” Ikamazu laughed. He suddenly lurched forward and rested his hands on his knees, coughing a bit from the pain. He blinked wearily, then inhaled sharply as he noticed Suna grip his blade with both hands, a soft light coming from it.

“I dont know why you have it out for me Ikamazu. I’ve never even met you until today. But after what I just went through, I am not just going to lie down and let you win. I have a few seconds left, and thats all I need.” Suna focused and breathed deeply, before his sword started to change again. “Unlock the fourth sword, the ruler of time. Reverse, Ocarina Dagger!” A high whistling sound suddenly surrounded the two shinobi as Suna’s Ocarina Dagger came into being. Suna stared at the blade for a moment before he placed the hilt to his lips and began to play the Song of Time. Ikamazu was captivated by the music but grimaced as a sudden burst of pain brought him out of his daze. Slowly he shuffled to Suna in an attempt to stop him. Suna began to glow a soft white as the song he was playing started to reverse the damage that was being done on his body.

“No.” Ikamazu cried out desperately. “No, it’s not fair. You cant be better than me again. You cant do what I cant again. I wont be worthless again!” Ikamazu shouted before he forced his chakra to send him straight at Suna, hitting the Ocarina dagger away and stopping Suna from completeing his song. Suna gasped in pain as Ikamazu’s weight landed on him before the boy rolled off, leaving the two teens simply staring up at the tree tops from the forest floor. The two panted out in exhaustion, Suna feeling the relief of his Song of Time leaving him as his Nogan power started to slip away again. He only added an extra minute thanks to his song of time, and with his injuries he wasnt going to be getting up anytime soon. So he might as well get some of his questions answered.

“What do you mean?” Suna asked suddenly. He turned his head to Ikamazu and saw his teammate struggle to speak. “What do you mean not again? When have I ever made you feel worthless? I’ve never even met you before.” Suna watched as Ikamazu breathed heavily and finally, after a few seconds he found his voice.

“I couldnt help.” Ikamazu started. “I was powerless, unable to do anything, but then you showed up, and saved the day. It wasnt fair.” Ikamazu sighed out. Suna simply stared at Ikamazu in confusion before he shouted at the boy asking what he was talking about. “The Shukaku attack!” Ikamazu shouted back at Suna. “Three years ago, back when Gaara the Kazekage was put back under the influence of the Shukaku! He had left his village fearing that he may accidently go on a rampage and instead of going beserk there he found our training grounds and went beserk on us instead remember?”

Suna started glaring at Ikamazu, annoyed that the guy still wasnt making any sense at all. “I remember. I was the one who weakened him remember?” Suna shot at Ikamazu only to widen his eyes in realization.

“Yeah, that’s right, you weakened him. After our training grounds had been evacuated I went back and tried to stop him. I tried everything I could think of. None of my chakra attacks were working on him, and I couldnt absorb all his chakra away because of the sand blocking me from ever reaching his body. I fought my absolute hardest and none of the others who stayed behind to fight were doing any better than I was. Our only hope was that Bob-sensei would make it back in time and protect what we called home. ” Ikamazu began seething in anger as he relived that fateful day.

“But then you came. You sped right past me on your way to the giant sand monster, one of your swords in hand. After a minute of being unable to land a definite strike you activated your Nogan and called out your sword of sealing. You actually stole some of Shukaku’s power. After that you were easily able to reach Gaara and wake him up. You used no jutsu like me, but you still prevailed where I couldnt. You made me realize how pathetic I really was!” Ikamazu shouted at Suna, his chakra circling around him like crazy in his turmoil and frustration. Suna could only grimace as he slowly began to feel the last of his power going away. Without another moments thought, Suna quickly summoned up a large hawk that could cary the two of them.

Ikamazu blinked in confusion, turning to Suna before he saw the teen snort and point at him. “The hawk will listen to whatever you ask of it, remember that. You Ikamazu Oturan, are one big giant ass. I cant believe you freaking beat me.” Suna laughed out before he fell uncounscious, the last remnants of his Nogan now gone. Ikamazu stared at Suna’s motionless body for a long while, contemplating his teammates words. He sighed before he looked at the hawk still waiting for orders. It was a good twenty miles before they could get out of the forest, and in his state it would take a long time to get out by himself. Then there was Suna who couldnt even moive right now, he would be left alone in the forest. He could leave Suna here and just take the hawk to the goal. The hawk was big enough for two people to ride on…

__________

Natsumi was figiting and biting her nail in anxiousness. After she had summoned a horse sized fox to take her out of the forest not a minute later she had heard the sound of some intense battling going on behind her. A little while later right before she was going to exit the tree line she saw a huge beam of chakra shoot out over the tree tops from far behind her. Once she was out of the forest though and met back up with Bob the sounds of battle had died out. It was well over the five minute time limit that Ikamazu had said Suna had for his power, so she knew he wasnt going to be the one to claim the prize, but there still wasnt any sign of Ikamazu or of Suna, and that really worried her.

“Relax Natsumi, they’ll be here soon, and I’m sure they’ll be in one piece…two at most, but probabaly only barely two pieces…I mean like maybe a sliced off arm or leg or something around those lines, not like a severed head or something…sigh, I suck at this dont I?” Bob finally said seeing how much more frantic Natsumi was getting. Bob’s mouth curved up just a bit at how Natsumi was acting though. He didnt think the self proclaimed Nine Tailed Girl would get so attached to her new teammates so quickly. At least he thought that’s what it was, maybe she was just a very worrisome person. She wasn’t like that in her past life, but hey, something could have changed her peronality.

“Wait, I think I see something!” Natsumi shouted and pointed just above the tree line. Bob squinted then broke into a grin as he saw Ikamazu on top of a large hawk, battered and beaten but still up, and Suna, uncounscious in the hawks talons. He guessed that whatever bad blood there had been between the two was gone, if not completely accepted yet. The hawk closed in on the two remaining memebers of team Bob and gently set Suna down on the grass infront of them before shaking Ikamazu off causing him to fall flat on his face, the scroll still secured across his back. With a dignified nod the hawk dispersed back to it’s home in a puff of smoke.

Bob looked down at the two injured teens im amusement. Suna was the more heavily injured on, but Bob knew that he would be back in top fighting form after a day of rest. Ikamazu only had a few shallow cuts all along his body from what he recognized as one of Suna’s speed attacks, and a large line across his torso of burnt flesh, still Ikamazu seemed incredibly exhausted and barely counscious.

Ikamazu grimaced in pain as he struggled to stand up. Finally suceeding he started to move over towards Bob before a weary Natsumi stalked over to him and gave him a tremendous slap across the face. Ikamazu crashed against the floor and stared up at Natsumi in shock. “NTG, what the hell was that for?!” He shouted at the girl.

Natsumi only narrowed her eyes and began to growl, pointing a finger at Ikamazu. “Dont you take that tone with ME Ikamazu Oturan! I was worried sick about what you two were doing in that forest! I could hear all that destruction, the explosions! And I saw that beam of chakra you ass! What were you thinking! I dont care how much you wanted to get back at Suna or even why, but you dont go and try to freaking off your own teammates!”

Ikamazu blinked up at the girl in surprise over her rant, and even Bob was watching the whole thing with a raised eyebrow. Depending on what Ikamazu did next he may have to consider reaaranging the team.

Ikamazu had swallowed after hearing what NTG had to say and only one thing popped into his head. She was right. He had taken the challenge between the three of them personally and had tried his damn best to just hurt Suna, not beat him, hurt him. He let his judgement get so clouded…what could he do now? “Your right” He said, surprising everyone, including himself. “I shouldnt…I shouldnt have taken things as far as I did. Hell, if it werent for his Nogan I know I wouldve killed him. And…I’m sorry, about everything I did today, not only to him,but you too for making you worry so much. I’m sorry.”

Natsumi could only gape at the honesty in Ikamazu’s words before she got emberassed and shouted that he better be sorry. Bob nodded in pride that Ikamazu had tooken a step in the right direction. That reminded him…”Ikamazu!” Bob called, alerting the teenaged boy. “I see that you’re in possession of the scroll. That means that you’ve won this little challenge and can keep that as your reward.”

It was Ikamazu’s turn to look like a fish as he gaped at Bob over what his sensei had just announced. “Wait…you mean I still get to keep this? Even after…even after all that?” Ikamazu asked a bit warily.

Bob smiled and nodded at Ikamazu. “Yes. Despite how you may have acted in the forest, what you just showed me erases all of that. You are beginning to make better choices and thats what growing up is about. And besides, above Suna and Natsumi here, I wanted you to get this scroll.”

Ikamazu blinked in confusion while NTG turned to her sensei. “Why is that?!” She asked angrily.

Bob only chuckled before explaining Ikamazu’s inability to use jutsu. “You see, thats why this scroll is perfect for someone who cant use jutsu like you Ikamazu. This scroll was the battle scroll of all the previous Genkage’s though they didnt always have a need for it. Possessing the scroll doesnt mean that you’ll be Genkage, only that you’ve gained their approval. J-sama, our new Genkage, decided that he didn’t want to use the scroll at all, so after putting in the customary three original jutsu minimum, he decided that one of you could have it until the next Genkage is appointed. I wanted you to have it because of what the scroll is performed to do. In it arent instructions to how to perform jutsu’s like other hidden villages battle scrolls, this scroll has the actual jutsu sealed in them with an infinite number of uses for each one as long as the seal is still in place.”

Natsumi and Ikamazu stared at the scroll for a long while before Ikamazu secured it back onto his back and adjusted the strap so it fit cofortably for him. Standing up, this time with NTG’s help, he bowed to Bob. “Thank you Bob sensei. I wont let you down.” At Bob’s laughter Ikamazu just shrugged before taking off one of his sandals and opening a secret compartment in it. He pulled out a tiny scroll and unfurled it before absorbing the chakra that was sealed in it. Feeling a tiny bit more refreshed with a tenth of his reserves back, he shuffled over to Suna before he pumped his chakra into Suna, effectively waking him up and giving him enough chakra in his reserves to move around again, all be it very stiffly.

Suna looked around and couldnt help the slight curve of his lip upon realizing that Ikamazu must have taken him with him to Bob and NTG. He hadnt doubted his plan for more than a second. He shakily got up and extended a hand to Ikamazu who shook it stiffly as well. “Thanks, I guess.: Suna said, getting only a shrug in response from Ikamazu. The guy may not like him yet, but he was sure they’d be friends eventually. NTG sighed at how the two were actring and decided to just break the ice by forcing them all into a group hug with Bob, much to all of the guys protests. Finally freeing himself, Bob clapped his hands together in excitement.

“Great!” Bob shouted, startling his new team a bit. “Now I know we’re doing things a bit backwards here, but now that the missions over lets get to know each other a bit better. I am your sensei, Bob. I was once the Fourth Genkage, but after having to spend seventeen years as Genkage taking care of all you reborn ninja I decided to give that up so I could get back out into the field again. I like movies, the occasional book…and someone who I never found after the Kurogyouten’s last attack. I dislike paper work and morning people. My hobbies include writing and being the evil dictator of all in my board game RPG’s. My dream is to find that someone I never found. Now you guys.”

The three teens only stared at their sensei before Natsumi puffed out her chest (much to the interest of Ikamazu and Suna) and started in a cheerful voice. “I’m Natsumi Kitsuya the Nine Tailed Girl! My idol is the great hero Naruto Uzumaki, the previous host of the Kyubi, and champion of the Shinobi, that’s why I’ve based my fighting style completely off of how he used to fight when he would use the Kyubi’s chakra! I like hanging out with my friends, reading the Gutsy Ninja manga that depicts Naruto’s story, and being in a one man band! I dislike polka music, cats, and people who make fun of my one man band. My dream is to discover what my past self wanted to do then do it!”

Bob nodded, grinning the whole while. He had denied all of the reborn shinobi any information about their past lives, claiming that they should try to find themselves literally. Next he turned to Suna. Shrugging ut having an air of contentness around him Suna began. “I am Suna No Ken. I am the awesome-est swordsman any of you will probably ever meet, and if I find someone you think is better I’ll just prove you wrong. I like making glass figures with my sand, running, and practical jokes. I dislike people stealing my snacks, waking up, and a certain man I have sworn vengeance on if I ever meet him again. My dream is to become the greatest swordsman who has ever lived and perfect my swordstyle.” Suna finished up and stepped back leaving only Ikamazu left.

“Alright then, I’m Ikamazu Oturan. Many people who dont know me would never guess this but I am an absolutely incredible break dancer…on DDR. I like playing games with my friends, swimming, and extra large servings of popcorn at the movies. I dislike the sensation of falling, when you cant find the droids your looking for, and pickles. My dream is to someday save the world!” Ikamazu finished proudly. After he realized what he said though, he put on a sheepish grin and rubbed his arm as his two teammates tried to hold in their laughter.

Bob was very happy with each one of his students, never expecting to actually like the team, only that he would be the best to shape them. Now though…he had some definite high hopes.

Sighing in contentness, Bob adressed his three students. “Alright you guys, this was a really incredible first day. I am very proud of you all and as a treat lets go and get something to eat in the village, on me.” Bob started to walk towards the village before Ikamazu started to laugh hysterically. Everyone turned to stare at Ikamazu before he suddenly pointed to Suna.

“I’m sorry Bob-sensei, but inside the forest the three of us made a bet. The last one to where the scroll was had to treat the others to dinner. And since Suna was the only one to ever get to where the scroll was, he is technically also the last one to reach it. So, he has to buy us dinner.”

Suna started trying to sputter out a response but anything he tried to say was drowned out by his whole teams laughter. After a few minutes of nothing but laughter Suna shrugged and decided to go with it. After all, how much could four people eat?

That night Suna went home crying over the loss of all his money, Natsumi went home in high spirits with a good feeling about her team, Ikamazu went home with a new attitude and glad for it, and Bob went home planning what tortures to put his tired team through tomorrow. Say that five times fast.

Alright everybody, that’s the show! I hope everyone enjoyed it, and I’m going to try and post on Sundays and Mondays regularly instead of Saturday, when I get no traffic due to Bobs chapter report. Anyways like last time I’ll leave you with some awesome fanart. This time it’s fan art of NTG or Natsumi for those of you paying attention. It includes her ready for battle in her chakra fox cloak. Enjoy and comment please!
