Naruto Chapter 524 – You Pissed off the Wrong Copy Ninja

naruto-retro1Post Author: Bob

Hotdiggity, it’s Naruto chapter 524 time. So this chapter continues right off from last week’s cliffhanger where Haku has immobilized Kakashi so Zabuza can cut him down. Of course, Kakashi survives this cheap move and continues with his plan. I was expecting more of a drawn out battle between Kakashi and Zabuza before he had to be sealed, but I guess we’re pressed for time in this war with so many battles going on at once. Heck, Kakashi’s only taken down one of the Seven Mist Swordsmen so far, and already the other battles in this war are creeping in.

As I stated last week, I was expecting a different outcome with the whole Haku dies again scene. My idea was for the familiar scenario to trigger a memory inside Zabuza despite his soul being suppressed; and that he would somehow break out from Kabuto’s control momentarily and willingly stop his sword swing just before striking Kakashi. I honestly think that this would give the scene more tension and give some dignity back to Zabuza by showing that he has a will strong enough, even if for just a moment, to oppose Kabuto’s powerful Edo Tensei. By having it appear that Kakashi was cut in half by Zabuza’s blade was a nice trick to keep us on edge, but did anyone really think the great Kakashi would die in this battle against some mindless zombie swordsmen?

So anyways, I think we can all agree that Haku’s suicide block served no real tactical purpose in this situation. For one thing, since all the Edo Tensei summons are indestructible, there’s no need for one zombie to protect another since all their wounds and limbs can be regenerated. Haku should have attacked Kakashi from the rear instead of trying to shield Zabuza. Also, Kakashi demonstrated the first time this happened, that he has no problem dodging Zabuza’s blade even while carrying Haku’s dead body. So I guess the only explanation for Haku’s actions was that Kabuto was trying to psychologically stun Kakashi by recreating this horrific moment in the hopes he will let his guard down. But I guess to do this, Kabuto would have known the full details or maybe even witnessed the battle at the bridge in the Land of Waves. Kind of a creepy thought, but considering it’s Kabuto, I think it’s plausible.

So Kabuto’s little psychological warfare game backfired on him (who wants to bet this will be a continuing trend in the other battles?). Instead of weakening Kakashi, Kabuto’s perverse act of forcing Kakashi to kill two opponents he respected and honoured in memory has not only strengthened his resolve in this battle but accomplished something no other villain has been able to do to Kakashi so far as we know…. Kakashi is pissed off. Zabuza and Haku were never really villains, more like tragic heroes forced to work for the bad side due to unfortunate circumstances. We now know Zabuza only tried to kill the Mizukage because he was controlled by Madara, so here’s further proof. Now in their first encounter, Kakashi probably didn’t know these details about Zabuza. But as their battle wore on and they exchanged blows, Kakashi began to realize that there’s something more to Zabuza than the berserker killer everyone portrays him as; that “something” probably wasn’t something cheesy like ‘a heart of gold’, but more like a sense of honor and justice. Zabuza’s actions at the end of their battle proved this and Kakashi gained a lot of respect for his opponent because of it. This is explored in Kakashi’s flashback to what Naruto said to him in the aftermath of their mission in Mist country. Even though they were the enemy, Naruto’s encounter with Haku and Zabuza taught him an important life lesson that has helped shape him into the person he is today. As a side note, one can ask why did Sasuke turn out so #%$ed up even though he experienced the same life altering event… but let’s leave it at that. My point is that even though they were bitter enemies at the beginning, Kakashi still honors Haku and Zabuza’s deaths. And Kabuto perverting those honoured memories is setting off some very sensitive nerves in a normally cool and calm Kakashi.

We’ve never seen Kakashi angry before, but you can feel it building up in this chapter. I think the way he so efficiently finished off Zabuza is just the first sign of his battle prowess in Kakashi Berserk mode. Funny thing is, angry Kakashi talks and gives out orders just like normal Kakashi. For me, the sure sign that Kakashi is really pissed off is in the panel where he picks up Zabuza’s sword and tells Sai to shut up and do what he says. After seeing this side of Kakashi, I think we all know that the remaining Swordsmen don’t stand a chance. Yeah, they’re supposed to be the uber elite of all Swordsmen in the Mist’s history, but just take a look at Kakashi’s eyes when he says he’s going on a rampage.

Other things that happened this chapter:
– Neji almost gets raped by a Zetsu clone while Kiba bitches about not getting enough panel time in this story arc.
– Gaara and his army detects the approach of the group of undead kages. It might just be me, but Muu the Tsuchikage just doesn’t sound very intimidating.

Next chapter: Kakashi Wins. Flawless Victory.

But you know what doesn’t Win? The German television version of Naruto anime opening, don’t ask me why it isn’t in German.

  1. Wow Bob you had to post your blog the exact time as I did hahaha…

But I was shocked and looking forward to Kakashi’s rampage.

  2. Lol, double feature.

  3. “Kakashi Wins. Flawless Victory.”

Actually its “Kakashi Wins. Flawless Victory. FATALITY”

Also, Sasookay is really cool, Sakura the beautifoool. 😉

  4. oh shi—- fixed

  5. It should be interesting to see Gaara fight again.

  6. So does anyone think Kakashi is going to start using Zabuza’s sword? That be badazz, see you can never doubt Kakashi.

  7. @jdogg u kno the way kakashi was wieldin the decapacitator around like a kunai it made me reallllllly hope he uses it. And kakashi when hes serious has got to be one of, if not the coolest ninja in the manga

  8. you know i was just thinking about edo. It’s actually turning out to be easier to immobilise than kill. I mean all ninja seem to have one or two badass, non-lethal, non-chakra intensive method of immobilising the enemy.
I’m really curious to find out how kishi is going to make Gaara’s desert burial technique suddenly non-permanent, because in all honesty, that technique has sufficient coverage to end the battle against the kages in one move. Gaara FTW

  9. God that opening is hilariously bad. lmao I crack up whenever I click play.

  10. I can see that being the case, say, against the swordsmen since they don’t have any effective counters against the burial technique, but the kage group is another story. We know that there’s a Tsuchikage in that group and desert burial/funeral is an earth type technique. And then there’s all the previous kazekages who probably know a thing or two about it. I think it’s the worst match-up for Gaara… but then again it’s Gaara.

  11. lmao!!! @ that intro!! XD looks more like a crap amv than an intro

  12. I Kishi is really pulling out my excitement like he use to do with these chapters. Kakashi stole the whole chapter when he said he was going on a rampage and to top it off I can’t wait to see Gaara fight again. Keepem comin Kishi!!!!

  13. I hope Kakashi starts using Zabuza’s blade and cut down every single member of the seven swordsman! It’s always a treat to see Kakashi in battle.

  14. Question of the Day: Kishi has stated that this is Kakashi’s year – we all know that by now – and since he is known to have 1000x jutsus. How many of those jutsus do you guys expect to see this year?

  15. @ZepWolfX

I would hope that since Kishi bothered to have Kakashi announce his title that he’s going to use a lot of new jutsu here… otherwise why bother. We already know his nickname.

I think this is the first time we’ve seen Kakashi positively motivated to being pissed off. We’ve seen him negatively motivated, back in Kakashi Gaiden he definitely had an attitude. Now of course he’s motivated to save his friends. I thought his lack of patience toward Sai was hillarious, I just hope Sai can pull it off.

One final point: Kiba and Shikamaru both whine, and it’s hillarious every time. We will probably hear Shikamaru complaining about too much action soon…

  16. Good chapter, kakashi is the man!! But one question, how long can kakashi keep this up? I mean its jst the start n easy opponents and he has alredy used couple of chidori

  17. Can i ask what the heck makes kakashi such a good character???? Dude hasnt fought any big fights in the history of naruto apart from Zabuza and he uses the same move all the damn time!! The only interesting thing about him is how he got his mangekyo……….

  18. *looking at kakashi with the beheader and nodding*
    who honestly saw that coming?
now my opinion seems more believable now.
kakashi with the beheader and over 1000 jutsus, and to top it off a sword that can’t be destroyed. and wow kakashi never had a sword while an adult, and ” he doesn’t seem like a cutter’.lol,
the beheader armed with copied moves from zabuza amazing……next is shark skin

  19. lol that intro is the worst shit i’ve ever heard of Naruto
that voice is really anoying too xD

  20. nice to see that Kabuto is not going to lose control of his summons

  21. @sharingan.
Its not because of the battles its how his character is written. A cool head slicck talking jonin level ninja. And you forget about his battles with hidan and kakazu. He effectivly fought 2 akatsuki while covering for ino and choji and to a lesder extent chikamaru.

  22. Pissed off kakashi look = baddest ninja ever besides minato of course lol maybe since kakashi is really motivated his stamina has risen or something naruto was dead tired against gara their first fight an once he seen he had someone to protect he got a huge energy boost all I know the best jounin the leaf has to offer isbpissed off an he’s gonna take it out on bad guys an I must say I’ve not been this excited about naruto since naruto first showed up an faced pain

  23. As a side note, one can ask why did Sasuke turn out so #%$ed up even though he experienced the same life altering event…

Sasuke was unconscious when Zabuza had his change of heart :/

  24. @Sharingan Jizzed

Oh no you didnt! Did you forget that he had to take on Hidan and Kakuzu virtually by himself since ino and choji werent doing much? There were more opponents like Pain he fought but that doesnt matter, hes awesome because hes a prime example of an excellent ninja, has a backstory, is known in every country, and has a cool demeanor.

  25. Do you think that Edo tensei summon are immune too genjutsu? i would think they where but i thought it would be an interesting question! i mean they dont have a brain but they do there mind but you can change the flow of there chakra within them to stop them using the tenketsu as they still have all the chakra points within there bodies as shown by Neji within this chapter.

  26. I guess if they dont have a brain though then Genjutsu cant be used as Genjutsu only affects the brain! as the ears, eyes and even nose to an extent is an extension of the brain.

what if Neji or any Hyuga clan Ninja where to close the chakra points effectively stopping them from using any chakra based attacks! that would work really wouldnt it?

  27. @mattmaru
I have wondered about attacks like that too. Though more specificaly the way narutos rasenshuriken destroys a persons chakra network.

  28. Well the rasenshurriken just basically slices everything apart on the celular level so chakra has no network to move around with. the living vessel used as a host for the ressurected soul must still have his tenketsu in tact for him to use Chakra.

  29. The rasenshuriken does destroy the chakra network, but what’s to stop that from being regenerated like if the person lost an arm? I think blocking the chakra points is a better idea then destroying them as then they can’t be regenerated as they still exist but are merely blocked.

  30. @Fire Fist

I would think the ET zombies have the ability to regenerate any and everything about them. If Deidara can be blown up repeatedly, there is no way an FRS would stop an ET. The summons would just regenerate the destroyed tissue.

This does not mean Gentle Fist would be ineffective. Gentle Fist does not destroy anything, so there would be nothing to regenerate. The same goes for genjutsu.

It would be really interesting to see what the Byakugan sees in an Edo Tensei summon, but I’m not so sure we’re going to get to see that.

  31. Kabuto made Haku block Kakashi’s Raikiri because if Kakashi connected with it, Zabuza would have almost immediately afterwords been immobilized by the Shadow Possession Jutsu. I’m also pretty sure Kakashi only managed to dodge Zabuza’s attack because he hesitated to slash Haku and Kakashi for a split second, I don’t see any other way to look at it because Zabuza and Kakashi were situated pretty damn close to each other and the Kubikiribōchō is long as f*ck.

  32. @Rip: thanks for making look like i don’t know what i’m talking about. lol. That question was hypothetical by the way. I know i’ve gone for a while, but i’m not dense.

  33. Ok so the majority think FRS would not stop an ED for as it would regenerate? the thing is that the FRS could wipe out many ED’s in the proximity once expanded! the next step is to catch there remains and bind them.

I dont think you will see an FRS in this battle if Naruto is preparing to create the TBB ” tailed beast bomb” that thing is gonna be like a mini nuke! now im not exactly sure what that will do to the ED’s maybe it will just blow them all away and they will regenerate again! but because it is using yin/yang chakra there might be some side effect but i doubt it. Naruto would probably be best using the TBB against the Zetsu army as they would just be disintergrated.

  34. @Zep, yeah we’re all kinda hoping Kakashi’ll start spamming some new moves. He knows 1000 but so far we’ve only seen like 4. And as rip said, since he announced his title, the only significance to him doing that would be if he was going to unleash a few of the 1000 jutsus.

  35. Kakashi showing off more of his jutsu arsenal would be great but I wonder how much chakra he actually has left? He looks pretty rough right now and he’s already made a few raikiri and had his sharingan activated for a bit. He’s got be down to at least half or so.

  36. I would of thought Kakashi would of made a his chakra reserves bigger! obviously he doesnt have an huge amount of chakra but he knows hows to use it well and is very resourceful. first of all he needs to get that bigg wound on his stomache healed lol!

  37. Kakashi does have quite a considerable amount of chakra; when he fought Hidan and Kakuzu he used Raikiri like 5 times, conjured high amounts of Suiton defenses with no pre-existing water sources twice, kept his Sharingan on the whole battle, and was prompted too use Kamui afterwords.

  38. @Fire Fist
Chidori probably doesnt drain much chakra from kakashi because it’s a technique he learned before he had his sharingan so his body can take it. In the start of the series he could only use 4 but we’ve seen like BrokenBonds said he’s incresed his chakra reserve. Its using his actual sharingan that his body can’t handle well since hes not an Uchiha so I think he’ll be alright. He hasn’t had it activated that long anyway and he hasn’t used anything other than Chidori.

  39. @JJ where does it say that since he learned the chidori before he had the sharingan it doesn’t drain much chakra? I was always under the impression that ti takes such a huge amount to make it (so much so that it’s visible) that it didn’t matter when they learned it. Granted Kakashi has learned far greater control throughout his life so he knows how to make it without using too much but it’s still a large amount I would think, plus the lightning blade is a bigger version. I’m going through my mind and comparing what he’s done during this fight to his fights with Hidan and Kakuzu as well as the Pain fight, so I’m not sure how much he has left.

  40. Well as far as i know kakashi has only shown 14 jutsu’s. 3 justsu’s in anime only! so another 989 to go! lol

  41. @Fire Fist
He created the Chidori before he got the Sharningan if you read the Kakshi gaiden chronicles http://www.citymanga.com/naruto/chapter-239/17/
    http://www.citymanga.com/naruto/chapter-239/18-19/
And its not the chiodori he use any more it´s
Raikiri he uses now a more power full verision andperhaps less chakra use. . .

  42. @ZepWolf

My comment wasn’t about your knowledge, it was more about Kishi’s treatment of Kakashi. What I meant was that Kishimoto didn’t need to remind the readers that Kakashi is the copy ninja, we’ve heard it a lot in the manga. I was just saying that Kishi had better back it up with a bunch of those this time.

    @Fire Fist and @ denim

I think Raikiri (which is basically the same as Chidori) uses a good amount of chakra, but Kakashi has gotten more efficient at using it. When he was teaching Sasuke, he told Sasuke that two was his limit when he first learned it, we see that at the end of Kakashi Gaiden when he tries for 3, he ends up passing out.

Kakashi both built up his chakra reserves and he got better at using chidori. Also, not all jutsus use a ton of chakra. It’s just that chidori and rasengan for example ARE dense masses of chakra, so they require a lot.

For the jutsus we’ve seen Kakashi use (these are from memory so if I missed some forgive me, manga only):

    1. 1000 yrs of pain (ok… not really a jutsu….)
    2. Chidori/raikiri
    3. Raikiri dog
    4. Doton dory heki (rising earth wall vs God Realm)
    5. Doton tunneling (vs. Sasuke and vs. Itachi)
    6. Dragon water missile (Zabuza’s jutsu)
    7. Summoning of dogs
    8. Substitution (with logs and a Naruto clone)
    9. Shadow clone
    10. Water clone (vs. Kisame & Itachi)
    11. Lightning clone
    12. Lightning clone zap (same as 11?)
    13. Rasengan (when teaching Naruto).
    14. Kamui
    15. Genjutsu (unspecified) vs. Sakura
    16. Suiton water wall (vs. Kakuzu)

You could say that isn’t a whole lot, but I think it’s an impressive repitoire. Also, it encompases 3 elements which is impressive.

  43. @ JP: I’m shocked that he took the beheader, but he’s seen it used so his sharingan has taken note of how to wield it since the sharingan is hack no jutsu over in japan(based on my unofficial English to Japanese translating skills :D). Plus, kakashi was in the anbu, and all anbu use swords of some sort. If naruto does use samehada it would totally destroy his character , kind of how Kishi destroyed Sasgay after he met madara.

What I’m glad to see is that zetzu has a chakra network, I was worried that the most powerful member of their team would be useless, obviously talking about Neji with that one cause Kiba is the weakest on his squad. Also can’t wait for Gaara to take revenge on white zetzu for the kage summit. Lets gooo!

  44. I hope that the copy ninja has learned something from the last time stepped up to fight.Kakashi’s last big stand was declaring that he would take down sasuke. Even when Sasuke proved too much for him and Naruto took over, Kakashi still thought he could go a few rounds with madara. The battle with Sasuke shows that head to head combat poses a major disadvantage to kakashi. He just doesn’t have the energy to keep fighting for extended periods of time. I remember, back in the first arc of the series,Naruto’s wild side involved a fakeout strategy with the shadow shuriken jutsu. When kakashi says he’s about to go on a rampage, I believe that he’s thinking more unconventionally, now, like his student. He might not whip out multiple jutsus right away, but he’s probably going to employ many of his old tricks to win this battle.

  45. @Naruto Tutor
I disagree with you saying that sasuke proved too much for him, he actually wasnt about to lose that fight. Naruto was just over ambitious and held him back so he could fight. 1 on 1 fighting isint a problem for him either because like all ninja hes won some and lost some. As far as his rampage mode i imagine it wont be him trying to be more unconventional, because most if not all of his strategies to date have been successful. I think the strategies will be ‘bigger’ not more unconventional, because i think in the ninja world the variety of strategies shinobi use, all can be said to be relatively unconventional.

I believe hes set up well to end this battle with a bang, and i imagine his chakra at the moment isint that low, because his face isin’t doing that (damn im on half tank already this is taking too long) thing it usually does. Its actually completely different, even though hes a bit battered and got that cut i think hes at a minimum of 75% and that sword, if he uses it, will help him save a fairly large amount of chakra.

    Kakashi to da world!!!!! 😀

  46. Well as far as we have seen! We have only seen Kakashi in small numbered skirmishes! nothing of this magnitude has been seen in this manga yet! he is either gonna do one of two things! focus on the ET summons or go for the main guy controlling them which it seems thats what he’s gonna do.

I personally think Kakashi is gonna take Sai with him to Kabuto! Kakashi will use his sharingan to tell him to end the ET summons and then Sai will place the seal on his tongue! not sure if that will work or not but thats my theory!

  47. @Eaglesfan

That wasn’t Zetsu’s chakra network, it was Neji’s as he was preparing the full body blow.

    @mattmaru

Interesting theory, I would think that Kabuto would be Kakashi’s most wanted target, but if Kakashi leaves, all the other ninjas in his division are toast.

  48. @ripcord
You also missed kakashis grand fireball jutsu while he was testing naruto and sakura at beginning of shippuuden. (sorry I dont know the japanese way of saying it) lol
and we know kakashi can use all the elements besides wind. so hes jsut one badass ninja. as far as we know, hes the only character who can use 4 or more different styles.

  49. Kakashi, he has 3 elements, fire was just in anime, not in manga, and what about seal he used on Sasuke. That’s one more jutsu

  50. @Fire Fist
Read Kakashi Gaiden it shows how kakashi created chidori but couldn’t use it since it gave him tunnel vision. Then after he received sharingan from Obito allowing him to use chidori. Kakashi explained to Sasuke that he could make 4 chidoris but that was at the start of the series. We’ve seen him make at least 5 against Hidan and Kakuzu while still using other techniques with his sharingan. Im sure some one else already mentioned this before me but still i’ll post anyway :p

  51. @ripcord You missed the Water Style: Water Shark Missle thingy used against Kisame, Grand Fireball against Naruto and Sakura, and the Great Waterfall against Zabuza. I know im being persnickety lol

  52. @ripcord,
yeah, I dunno what other jutsus you missed, but I bet it’s a lot. Sorry, just jumping on the narutard bandwagon 😀

  53. @Bob

Hey! I’m just trying to defend Kakashi’s reputation here! Although what we see next will probably be the best evidence…

    @sasukethebeast
Augustus is right, Kakashi didn’t use a Katon in the manga.

    @JJ
Kakashi never used the shark missile in the manga. He never used the great fireball either.

Ok, so to add to the list,
    # 17 is the Evil sealing method used to contain the curse mark
    #18 water dragon blast http://www.citymanga.com/naruto/chapter-15/15/

That’s all for now. Anything else I missed?

  54. lol, I’m just j/king around. It’s almost a law now that whenever you make a list of something on the Internet, you’ll always be challenged on it. I think the “1000 jutsus” shouldn’t be taken literally, it’s an archaic way of expressing “a lot” (One Thousand and One Arabian Nights for example). I would guess Kakashi probably knows about 300 jutsus. I say this because Kakashi would have to learn the majority of his techniques through copying those of his enemies encountered in missions and such. But since he can’t learn kekkei genkai techniques or situations where his sharingan can’t read the hand seals or keep up with the opponent’s movement, Kakashi is limited to what he can learn during each fight.

  55. @JJ, I understand he made the chidori before he got his sharingan, but I thought the argument that was since he created the technique before he got the sharingan it requires less chakra from him. I just disagree with that idea because getting a new eye doesn’t change how much chakra a technique requires, if anything it would require more of him since he needed the eye to perform it correctly.

  56. @ripcord
ohh yeah my mistake. I actally didnt start reading the manga till the hidan and kakuza fights. My mistake -_-

  57. @jj.
kakashi created chidori but he couldnt keep up with his own speed and the hit the right spot but sharingan helped him to pinpoint his apponent moves n the obstactles, and later prob helped him improve his chakra control = better chidori

  58. @Bob

I dunno… there is this temple with 1001 cedar statues in it in Japan, and it really has 1001. But yeah, you’re right it could just mean “a lot.” I dunno though, Kakakshi isn’t one to inflate his own ego. One thing about it though, he had his nickname since the beginning of the series, so he had to have copied all of them before the formation of Team 7… that seems like a tough thing.

  59. Kakashi’s 1000 jutsu is probably a bit deceiving because of how we think of it. He probably does know 1000 jutsu, it’s just they’re probably not all gems. He probably has a bunch of little jutsu akin to the substitution or water walking jutsu that take up a portion of the count. Having 1000 super offensive jutsu, I don’t think anyway, doesn’t seem to be the case.

  60. I purpose that Kakashi will show a new technique in the upcoming chapters. We all know that Kakashi’s original technique is the Chidori and up until now we have not seen him do more original moves. Sure we have seen Kakashi utilize his summons on multiple occasions with dogs. He has also been taught fairly well (I would suggest) by Jiraiya and the Third sealing techniques (Sasuke). And on top of that, we know that Kakashi’s ability to assess his enemies and come up with appropriate methods of dealing with foes put him straight to the top with mental capabilities. His plethora of techniques and abilities makes him the most diverse ninja in Konoha and was in line to be considered for taking the place of Tsunade. Due to all of this… dare I say he is- Legendary!

As Kakashi stated: “The copy ninja Kakashi, the man who copied one thousand techniques is about to go on a rampage.” I purpose the next few chapters he busts out a new technique or does something we’ve never seen him initiate. I would also like to take note the importance of Kakashi holding the Great Beheading Sword. Keeping in mind that Kakashi has fought Zabuza three times now and utilizing his Sharingan, might we see Kakashi use this to his advantage? I would love to see Kakashi chop off some heads. Who’s with me?

  61. I think kakashi may have a thousand jutsu. He is a war vet. he could have copied tons of jutsu out side of battle by just watchin other ninja spar or something. Then again a thousand is alot

  62. @a lost shinobi

That’s true. I wonder if he copied a lot of them soon after he got his sharingan, since the war didn’t end with the destruction of that bridge.

  63. I think it’s time for Naruto to return to the manga light – I want to see how he’s coming along with his training…

  64. @ripcord Oh okay I thought you meant in general both the manga and anime.

@xTailedfox Yep good point thats what I was trying to get at basically 🙂

    @Fire Fist
Well what I mean to say is that Kakashi can use chidori no problemo because he created it and we’ve seen him use it pretty flexibly. It doesnt drain much chakra from him (anymore) since I think some one said it’s been “upgraded” to raikiri.

  65. Has anyone thought that perhaps kakashi’s 1000 jutsu is many of the same jutsu, just used in a different way?

so you could turn like a fire jutsu into an distraction so you can retreat? or use it as a defense to a wind technique, or just use it as a plain old attack…

Also he could use a water jutsu to cover the area then raikiri to electrocute the area… ( ultimate ninja storm 2 influence lol…) so jutsu in combination.

And to add to the list Kakashi had earth style head hunter jutsu didn’t he?

  66. or maybe he just knows 1000 jutsus. Just saying…

  67. @JJ, yeah I hear what you’re saying. Kakashi is still one of the best around, and he’s one of the few ninja I can safely say I see surviving the entire series.

  68. am i just mistaken because i thought that while kakashi’s chakra is not at naruto, nagato or jiraiya level, i’d say it would match minato’s. It’s a gift and a curse that he has the sharingan which actively drains chakra when exposed, that’s why his chakra levels appear ‘low’. Additionally having a lot of jutsu is not as important as your ability to use them. So whether he has 1000 or 20, i think it’s immaterial and only shows that he should have a jutsu for every scenario, but given the way pein pwnd him, i guess that was one situation 1000 jutsus meant nothing 😉

  69. @Madzikage, there’s actually nothing you can do when faced with overwhelming power. Strategies, tricks, deception, all useless at that point.

  70. Thinking about it, a lot of people actually have the wrong idea about Kakashi… and even me. Here’s the problem: everyone says “oh well he copied 1000 jutsus so he should be able to whip one out whenever he needs one.” Yes, this is true to an extent, but we are all missing an important point here:

Kakashi was ABLE to copy all those jutsus and use them against his opponents. In other words, against Zabuza he copied the Water Clone, the Dragon Missile, and the Water Blast jutsus, turning them all against Zabuza. I would bet that in Kakashi’s early days he did this a lot. Anytime he could copy it, he did. So this is more a testament to his fighting style than anything else.

This is also exemplified in Might Guy’s dig at Kakashi about how he only has one original jutsu (at the beginning of part I).

Perhaps now is the time for Kakashi to use them, but I think his nickname is more about how ninjas often found their own jutsus being thrown in their faces and being trumped by it.

  71. @ ripcord

So your saying that the title of “The Ninja That Copied One Thousand Jutsu’s” is a testimony to his strategic strength against an enemy. How copying the enemys jutsu and turning it on them is Kakashi’s way of fighting?

From my understanding thats what you have said, and more but i cannot be bothered repeating it but i do agree.

Personally i want to see some jutsu unseen at all so far, i dont really care wether Kakashi pulls out 1000 jutsu, or if he uses 5. I just want to see kakashi really go to his limits, we’ve heard rumours of how strong kakashi is, now its time he live’s up to and beyond his feared reputation.

  72. @ dry I agree I just wanna see new jutsu

  73. @Dry, Kakashi IS strong…by average standards. Its just we see akatsuki and Kage-level fights so much that Kakashi has been overshadowed.

  74. here is a thought! do you think Kyubi can sense evil emotions because he is evil himself? Or that he can sense them because he is good?

Now here is my thought process! he is a big ball of rage! but people have treated him like shit all since he has known Ninjas. He attacked and sealed many many times and has been used as a weapon! now if i was kyubi that would piss me right off!

  75. @Dry

Yes, that is my point. Although we have seen him do that several times, so it is about time Kakashi showed us what he learned.

    @kisu

Exactly, Kakashi has stepped up to fight the toughest opponents. He has an international reputation for a reason.

    @mattmaru

Your sentiments are exemplified when we look at the 8-tails’ life. The fact that the 8-tails was able to be “tamed” holds hope for the Kyuubi, but who knows. I found it interesting that the 8-tails didn’t even TRY to talk to the 9-tails. But I guess that Kishi really wants it to be up to Naruto to make peace with the Kyuubi.

I would predict that Naruto and the Kyuubi do get on good terms, only for it to be too little too late. IF Naruto is to be captured and have the Kyuubi extracted, it will occur soon after this moment.

  76. You would think that Kyubi would be a good sauce of knowledge as he has been around since the Sage! maybe he knows a few jutsu’s!

Some people think the odd numbers of the tails are the evil ones and the even ones are good but i dont buy into that!

  77. source… lol

or maybe he just knows 1000 jutsus. Just saying…

I doubt that, the Chidori is he´s own jutsu so thats at least 1001jutsus he knows and he copied Zabusas jutsu so that even more, and think about that he became a Jonin just before he got his sharingan, and a Jonin that has no jutsus?? No way thats possible ( Rock Lee has jutsus his lotus ect ect)
So i think that he got a lot more than a thousand jutsus. and he hasn´t copied only 1000jutsus, it´s over a 1000, it´s just nick name, and they can´t change every time they found out if he copies a new one like Kakashi the ninja who coppied 1045 jutsus and next day Kakashi the ninja who copied 1046 jutsus

  79. And sumoning can´t be copied (I think, beacuse it´sa blood contract they make), and thats a jutsu to so that even more than a 1000

  80. @ Kisu – I never said Kakashi wasnt strong, I just ment that now we are going to see him go all out.

@ Flux – Was it ever stated that he remembers the thousand jutsu? maybe Kakashi has copied over a thousand, there is no mention that a sharingan user should be able to remember every jutsu they see. And yes it is just a nickname, good for you for stating what has already been stated a few comments above you by ripcord and various others.

@ Mattmaru – After seeing what the 9 tails had to say when it saw saskue’s sharingan waaaay back, I believe that ultimately the 9 tails will contribute knowledge or somthing. We dont know much about the 9 tails when you think about it. Pherhaps its gaurding the a secret of the sage of six paths. I mean if i were creating monsters and had to choose one to guarrd a secret, I’d choose the biggest baddest one to guard it.

Also, has anyone ever speculated as to why when Itachi was sitting in the chair at the Uchiha compound, there was a glyph above him on the wall that consisted of nine orange tails surrounding the word “Fox”.
There is still much we don’t know.

  81. its out!!!
