Naruto Chapter 615 – True Friendship

naruto_610__owning_juubi_by_kyubii9-d5lsqej

Now this is what you call a masterpiece chapter. Everything that was supposed to be, was. The transition of the chapter was amazing coming from last weeks shocking death of Neji. I thought that the transition from that would be very difficult and by what Kishi has been doing lately, I thought that he would butcher it. Boy was I wrong, not only was I wrong but Kishi makes a great transition and commends this chapter to not only Neji but to all the casualties in this war, and yes this is now a WAR.

Holding Hands

For the situation being as serious as it is right now, with this war and everything. The concept of Naruto and Hinata holding hands is very corny, now I18 know that kishi has a corny sense of romance. However, as corny as it is, Naruto finally conforming that he has some feelings toward Hinata fits the situation. Now I was never a fan of Naruto hooking up with Hinata, but I am a fan of Hinata because believe it or not what she did this chapter tops any female role in this whole series. It even matches the time when Tsunade went berserk on Orchimaru. We all know that females in Naruto do not have as large of an impact as the male characters. But Hinata just showed that the females in Naruto will not sit around looking dumb founded like Sakura. I mean for a main character not to say a single word in over 50 chapters or so, is lame. For so long now Naruto has been lacking  strong female roles, for awhile the females were only there to look pretty or for fan service, but Hinata just showed ever one that a woman’s touch is best to soothing a broken heart.

Comeback

uchiha_madara___tobi_by_gejsi-d3069laWhat was it that I said about Obito a few weeks ago, oh yes, that he was “lame.” What a turn around he has made, I solute Kishi for turning possibly the greatest villain to the lamest to the greatest villain again. For the past chapters Obito has been kicking butts and just butchering Naruto with taunts. Even Madara the king of taunts, acknowledges that Obito is a force not to be taking lightly. It seems that Obito has made it his goal to change Naruto’s mind, to accept the inevitable and join him. But whats intriguing is the similarities between Obito and Naruto. We all know that Naruto and Obito had similar life experiences. Though, for some reason Obito has made it his goal to change Naruto’s at mind, and I think that reason is to prove that what he’s been doing all this time is justifiable and right. Let’s face it Naruto and Obito are the main ideals right now. While Madara, the Alliance, and the Tailed-Beasts are the supporting characters. Both Naruto and Obito have opposite ideals that contradict each other. And that is why Obito is so obsessed with turning Naruto to his side, because Obito with all of his heart believes that what he is doing is just. Though, if Naruto is right (which he is) than what Obito has been doing was the opposite of his mission to save the world. I think that Obito is seconded guessing his ways and wants a reassurance that his ways are right, and having Naruto change sides will do that for him.

True Friendship

Like I said before Hinata has come along way to this point of becoming the central female character, because so far Sakura is still down for the count. 19Tsunade is in half, Mei is beat up, and the other females, who knows what they are doing. Probably dying or giving medical attention to people. Either way Hinata is the woman, and I think that she will have a bigger impact on this war if not she already has made her mark. In my opinion, I do not think that Hinata has the power to support Naruto in this fight, sure she might deflect a finger of the Juubi once but after that she is way out of her league. But since Obito has seen how she is supporting Naruto emotionally, he might target her, thus hitting the final punch to push Naruto over the edge and losing hope for the Alliance. If Obito actually succeeds in killing Hinate, than all hopes are lost, because who will bring back Naruto from this experience. We saw last time that his father was able to help him out but now he has no one that can give him that emotional support. Sakura is out of the question, Kakashi is a realist and will know that anything he tries will be in vain, and Kurama might be able to help him out like he did now. So if Hinata actually ends up dead in the next few chapters than even, myself, will lose hope for the good guys to win this one. Either way Hinate is giving Naruto that emotional support that he desperately need. So do not be surprised if Obito will target her out of everyone and I hate to say it but Hinate’s time might be ticking.

Side Note:

  • While it would make for a great twist if Hinate actually dies, I highly doubt that Kishi would kill her off. But than again I was proven wrong more than once by Kishi.
  • A very rich emotional chapter, well done kishi.
  • Madara is not even taking this seriously, did you see how laid back he was and he was laying back on top of the Juubi too.
  • It might be possible that Naruto transfered some of his chakra to Hinate since he can do that and thus given Hinate that extra juice to help him out.
  • It is pretty selfish for Hinate to get so ‘excited’ over holding hands with Naruto, when she just witnessed Neji die. But thankfully she comes around to her senses.
  • Once again Bee shows of an desperate but an epic move to slow down the Juubi.
  • And again the Juubi transformers into a fat jolly creature that has a huge back.
  • Final time, this chapter was well done.

  1. “Masterpiece chapter” is actually a very fitting description!

Naruto now has the necessary harsh experiences to add gravity to what he says going forward. His Dad was also light hearted but when it was time to go dark he went pitch black 🙂

Agree that Obito is looking to turn Naruto to justify everything he has done up until now. But this dates to way back in the land of the samurai when he tried to break down the history of shinobi to Naruto to show how “inevitable” everything is. Obito is probably also intrigued by the man that was able to turn his staunchest supporter, Pain, to the light…

  2. first of happened to this site? its changed so much……

  3. Great chaper for the NaruHina shippers!
I don’t think that Hinata is in any immediate danger because Kishi already used the “almost kill Hinata” card during the fight against Pain. Naruto is already motivated by Neji’s death. Killing Hinata now would mean striking another heavy blow to Naruto.
Also, if Naruto manages to protect Hinata this time, it will show the difference between pre-Pain Naruto (who was still at odds with Kurama) and the new Naruto.

  4. Great chapter and great review. You forgot to mention one thing though in how the Jubi stopped its tracks to see Naruto’s decision. The Jubi will probably end up kind of like how Kurama is. Kurama hated being controlled and chose to fight for what’s right with Naruto. The Jubi saw Naruto’s compassion for everyone which will impact its future decisions and most likely decide the fate of the ninja world.

  5. @Papa – i don’t think the juubi stopped in it’s tracks. I think it was Obito and Madara who wanted to see what Naruto said. Juubi (in this form and at this stage) is just animalistic… But suppose the same was said of Kyuubi before he befriened Naruto.

  6. @Tawuya looking back it seemed Madara made that comment about Obito in how Naruto’s decision mattered to him. I thought it was about the Jubi cause its eye was facing Naruto.

  7. Ah, I see; yeah that would change the meaning of the panels. Yup, he was referring to his number one stubborn apprentice.

Obito is getting rash though; Juubi bomb at that range even wrapped in tails would not guarantee he survives… He’s willing to go unnecessarily far just to break Naruto’s resolve.

  10. i just hope you guys can see the setup as clear as i can. jdogg even broke it down for us. obito wants to justify all he has done in his life since the second he saw rin die up until now by breaking naruto’s will. notice that? rin died? obito loses it? its easy to understand. kishi is setting the stage for the end of this battle. unfortunately i do see hinata being killed by obito or madara(which sux shes my girl :\ ), but what other way would obito be able to prove that his actions are just? his breaking point was losing the woman he loved, rin. the universal breaking for almost all ninja in the ninja world is the loss of loved ones or those who are important to you. friends, family, lovers, crushes 😉 etc. obito has to kill hinata. its the only way he’ll know for sure. sooner or later he’ll notice, if he hasnt already, what hinata means to naruto. obito sees himself in his youth in naruto. he had the same strong will to protect his friends as well until he saw rin die right before his eyes. naruto must experience the same, with hinata being his rin. but seriously, what story ends with the bad guys winning? i predict obito will kill hinata and naruto wont lose it because at that time the question as to why exactly did kakashi kill rin will be answered. then naruto, already feeling the pain of losing the woman he loves(or just has feelings for whatever using “love” to better connect the dots) will be able to truly understand obito’s pain and what drove him to his ideals and to partake in madara’s plan. he’ll then talk obito down make him realize that his quest for peace has and will always be unjust. with ninja from all the great nations present to witness these events this will be what stops the cycle of hatred in the world. obito, defeated through words, i hope will NOT try to make amends by using his rinnegan to revive the dead as 1. it would be pointless and cruel to revive people just so they can be killed off again (madara is still around ppl) and 2. its corny and we’ve seen it before. i think he’ll go from trying to end the world to fighting to save it by stopping madara, which is also where i see him dying. i cant really speculate any further because i feel that sasuke has to have a role in all this sooner or later and he might just have one sooner than we think.

  11. Well done Jdogg. Your review was on point with everything I was thinking. BUT before I say my comments about the Naruto chapter, I wanted to say this on ITS OUT.

“It seems like the Big 3 was all about the ladies!

In Naruto, Hinata took the role of the heroine. The naruto-wiki did say that Kish said that Hinata would become a better heroine than Sakura.

“Despite not being the main heroine of the series, Kishimoto stated that, at the time of the 2010 interview, Hinata would make a better heroine than Sakura. This is due to the fact that Hinata has a more complex background as opposed to Sakura who Kishimoto stated has a “normal” background.” -Naruto wiki.

I also agree Jdogg-sama that this was a brilliant transition from my main man departure from the series. It would suck if Hinata follows Neji into the pure world, but I kinda doubt it. However considering how every time Hinata stands up for Naruto, she always almost about to die:

    Her fight with Neji
    Protecting Naruto from Pein.

Okay I thought it was more than that.

Anyway great chapter can’t wait for the next.

    BYAKUGAN!!!

  13. Sorry about the double post.

  14. “And the other females, who knows what they are doing. Probably dying or giving medical attention to people.”

Ino’s already done a LOT this war. Defeated Ginkaku, possessed Obito and saved Naruto from the Juubi. And I think Ino will have a big part in the execution of Shikaku’s plan. Shikaku told Kakashi that Inoichi won’t be communicating for a while before they realised they were done for, so he obviously needs the Yamanaka jutsu for something.

  15. @Roger Kevin Dering, yeah I agree with you Ino made her impact. But the fact of the matter is that she is a forgetful character. She does not have that spunk that would have an impact. Will rather Hinata has that potential. Ino is great in her own field, and she is not the only one. Mei was an awesome character, Tsunada had the best potential to be THE ‘Woman’ of the Naruto world. But sadly she crossed paths with Demi-God Madara. I guess I was trying to be funny, but I have a horrible sense of humor. I will leave the humor for you guys, because some of you have the funniest original comments I read any where else.

Example: Props @Profess, for that original entertain comment.

  16. The two occasions that Hinata has made a significant impact on Naruto (driving Naruto over the edge by “dying” and now bringing him back) trump everything else that Sakura has ever done. Sakura started out as a pretty annoying character, then got better towards the Sasori arc. I had hoped she’d improve but now she’s back to almost zero in my book. What a waste of a potentially great character (especially being Tsunade’s apprentice and all). Oh well. I suppose there’s just far too many characters and far too many things going on all at once in the Naruverse that at times character development gets sacrificed in favor of the plot line. :/

  17. Wow it’s been like 2-3 years since I’ve last commented on a post, but this chapter warranted it.

This whole killing Hinata to allow for Naruto to understand Obito’s pain concept is great but I doubt it will happen. I don’t think Obito wants to be redeemed nor is capable of it. Rather than show how alike Naruto and Obito are, we’re finally gonna see a small difference in events that ultimately decides the difference. That will be Naruto succeeding in protecting Hinata where as Obito failed to protect Rin. Now this will either show Obito that this is indeed light in this world and then talk no jutsu happens,OR he goes buzzerk and falls even further over the edge.

Overall good review J-sama and great chapter by Kishi. Am I biased as a naruhina shipper? A lil bit but this chapter finally had the emotional impact that a real war needs. It’s not so much about friends dying as it is the how Natuto has to deal with it emotionally.

  18. Happy New Yeeeaarrr!! (To those who only see the Naruto forum)

  19. Lol, happy new year, Immortal, and to the whole Sannaro Community!

  21. Man, it’s been a while since I’ve been here. (oh the memories.)

Ok, first thing is first. NEJIII!!!!!!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! WHY!!!!!!!!!

Just when I was thinking that Naruto had lost it’s edge and I was about to loose interest on it, I get a text from a fellow geek. Contents: “Neji died. Did you know this? :'(”

First I was upset, cause … well, because geek code dictates ‘No Spoilers.’ and YOU JUST DON’T BREAK GEEK CODE!!!! Then as soon as I get off from work I go to read the latest chapter and to my everlasting sorrow (<– probably being a bit over dramatic.) I come to find out that Neji is indeed dead. It's like Kishimoto was in my head and told himself, 'I have to so something drastic to get this guy to read my manga. He's spending to much time with Fairy Tail. I know, how about I just go and off his favorite character. That will get his attention.' Well, Mr. Kishimoto you have gotten my attention, sir. And I yes it took something like this to do it. Touche, good sir, touche.

First the first time in a while, I can't wait for the next chapter.

  22. It’s nice to see some of the old names on here after so long.

  23. Oh and this is FireFist, had to change my name due to the start up of my own sports website, National Football Direct…sorry for the shameless plug haha

  24. No new chapter for about 3 weeks just a fyi

  25. wtf why is there no new chapter out? how long has it been

  26. Damn, kiba was so ripe for dying why neji?????? and when is this holiday gonna end

  27. Sigh….I tell you one thing, the impact of the BIG 3 is slowly fading in favor of other things. This is a looonnngg time waiting for a chapter. Hopefully the artist had some time to really plan something amazing for this year. Is there anything anyone would like to see happen in the BIG 3 this year?

Personally, I would like to see:

One piece- A new crew member and some info on one piece.

Naruto- This is a tough one for me since it seems like this manga is close to the end but I would like to know more about Uzumaki clan, the SOTSP, and of course the Hyuga clan. It would be cool to if Kish show some more history of that sealing clan from the whirlpool country.

Bleach- This is easy because I want to see what everyone else wants to see…..BBBAAANNKKIIIII!!!

  28. One Piece: I imagine that a new crew member is right around the corner; it’s been too long since they got Brook. I also imagine that the Will Of D will become clearer as we go, as well as the assault on the Yonko that Law was talking about. If it’s Big Mom, then here comes Jinbie as the new member.

Naruto: At this point the series is wrapping up and it’s not like there’s a bunch of unknown things at this point. Unless some new, hidden in the shadows, villain appears, then I see it just finishing.

Bleach: The bankai, I’m curious if Ichigo still has his mask, as well as other minor things.

  29. the next naruto chapter better not be anything remotely short of absolutely captivating and amazing.

  30. hahaha, Shannaro-lings are itching and scratching for their Big 3 fix!

Fairy Tail NOT cutting it right now!

  31. @Immortal:

One Piece – agree, a new crew member and also what Zoro is hiding under that pesky eyelid!

Naruto – what “gift” did the tailed beasts give Naruto and “that jutsu”

Bleach – Kenpachi Zaraki training with Unohana!!!

  32. its out on mangareader!!! wont spoil it for ya

  33. NEW NARUTO CHAPTER OUT AT LAST GUYS….SASUKE-KUNNNNNN!!!! Lol

    http://www.mangareader.net/naruto/616

  34. @Immortal

One piece – Like Tawuya i need to know the deal with Zoro’s Demon eye (an yes im callin it that from now on!) Cant wait to see Big Mam and her pirate crew vs Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Kidd, Killer, Hawkins an Apoo…this is gonna be some EPIC fight

Naruto – Need to see some more death in the “war”

    Bleach – Kyoraku’s Bankai an Kenpachi’s training!

  35. One Piece out as well, lol, these guys are idiots… Will refrain from spoiler comments until everyone’s had a chance to read.

    Naruto – very emotional

  36. Naruto – Hurry up an read it coz i wanna rant lol

    Bleach – reading now!

  37. @Tensa – Bleach does it again; top of the big 3 in opening week of 2013 mangas!
